I haven't seen a good horror movie lately, my friends and I watched this movie at midnight in the pitch black. I thought it was amazing, such great acting and suspenseful.

    “Emphasizing The Silence”

    ★★★★☆

    written by wordpainter on 29/10/2012

eerily creepy, stunningly vivid, and masterful, Silence of the Lambs shows what a great classic is really made of. It gives a in- depth view on the lives of real- FBI agents, yet retains that cinematic quality. Jodi Foster leads an all- star cast as the brave and traumatized Clarice Starling, balancing her character's strengths and weaknesses, resulting in movie perfection. And of course, how can we forget Anthony Hopkins as the brilliant yet nuts psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter? he speaks each word majestically, as smooth as velvet yet as sharp as a newly- sharpened knife, plunging into your spines. Scott Glenn as Jack Crawford complements the two lead stars' performances with his scene stealing chops and witty lines. Up next is Ted Levine as the psychotic murderer Buffalo Bill, squeezing every horror factor in the scene, following the footsteps of Mike Myers and Jason, forever in the viewers' minds. Worthy of following the novel, Silence of the Lambs is a gripping story of wit, cleverness, and guts that will surely take place as one of the great ones.

Silence Of The Lambs was a great and suspenseful movie. Anthony Hopkins is such a wonderful actor and can play the part well. It was scary, demented, and yet classy all at the same time. I would definitely recommend this movie to my friends if they like something crazy.

“This is one of the greatest suspense / thriller films...”

    ★★★★★

written by Tower Boy on 01/12/2006

This is one of the greatest suspense / thriller films that has ever been made - creepy as heck yet relying more on dialogue and the actors performances to convey the story than blood and guts. This film won many Oscars including a well-deserved one for Anthony Hopkins for his frighteningly realistic portrayal of the psychotic Hannibal Lecter.

The plot - Clarice Starling (Foster) is a young FBI agent who has been assigned the job of tracking down a serial killer that is currently on the loose - Buffalo Bill. In order to help get her man she believes the best way to catch a psycho is to think like one - enter Hannibal Lecter. Agent Starling goes to visit Dr Lecter at the maximum security prison where he is incarcerated and over a number of tense discussions she starts to understand the way that Buffalo Bill's mind works.

This all leads to an incredibly tense game of cat and mouse as Agent Starling closes in on her target. Based on a book by Thomas Harris, this isn't strictly the first film in the series so you may be better watching Red Dragon before this and Hannibal after. Recommended.
