I have the album, imported from the UK to the US. I've seen this production 5 times, including once in London. This opera is such a great modern work, the words, lyrics, jokes, and theme are amazing. This opera is critical of everything: the host, audience, guests, religion, and some special surprises (I don't want to give away spoilers). Be prepared to laugh out loud!

Jerry Springer the Opera is a fantastic musical carefully produced into this musical recording. However do be careful this is not with the cast that is on the DVD version for the BBC and does sound quite different. Also you would be wise to see it first as the sound appears to be taken from a visual recording and has the audiences reactions to gags you, as an audio audience, may not understand and does not compensate for that factor and so you miss out on an onstage impact. If you have not seen it before and cannot get to see it I would recomend that you buy the DVD first as this could be a waste of money.
