I got this for £3.40 from the Amazon marketplace and laughed like a maniac!

Holes in the Wall is one of those dissapointing albums which contains the singles - which are great, and then not a whole lot else. It's not punishing to listen to, but I've seen them play live and they were fantastic so this failure to translate it to the recorded world is a real pity. There's promise here but Electric Soft Parade have clearly let themselves down in the tune department.

Actually there were 2 singles, "Silent to the Dark" and "Empty at the End." I believe "Silent To the Dark" was edited so all the instrumental fiddling at the end was removed and it was left sounding like a gorgeous pop song. It should have received more acclaim though. It is worth noting that they were about 17 at the time this came out. I've not heard the subsequent records myself, but I love the White brothers other band, Brakes!
