I Got Now That's What I Call Music Vol. 51 As A Gi

I got Now That's What I Call Music Vol. 51 as a gift. I'm not really a fan of mainstream pop, I like my music to be a bit challenging and usually get it from the alternative. I do however like a great pop record, it just happens that amongst the 42 artists here they have only scraped about 4 together. Not great I know. This album is listenable and is basically made up of radio 1's play list of that time. This kind of music is harmless (well most of it) I suppose, I just can't understand why you would want to listen to the same songs that have been played over and over on the radio for the last few months, on your CD player over and over. Especially the songs that never seem to go away and always get played like Nickelback, Robbie Williams and Stereophonics. Like I said there is the odd glimmer of a great pop song and here it is supplied by Britney Spears, there are also decent efforts from City High, Lasco and Puretone. So far we have a mixture of Overplayed songs and decent pop hits so 50/50 so far! All we need to add is the mediocre efforts and the down right rubbish in the form of Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Steps. This results in a terrible album and at the end of the day if you like the song enough you buy the single, if you like the artist enough you buy the album, if you just want to listen to mediocre pop all day listen to either Radio one or any local commercial radio station and you're your money.
