“The Samsung SGH 2400 suffers from BAD stupid charger...”

★★★☆☆

written by sam_s. on 12/12/2001

The Samsung SGH 2400 suffers from BAD stupid charger plug design, EXPENSIVE accessories, poor battery life. Main gripe: the plug design for the travel charger is SO stupid it died on me very quickly (the plug is a system of 8 pins that are as fine as hair and won't work unless aligned with atomic precision) and so I could not charge the phone and had to buy an expensive desktop charger. Accessories for this phone also seem to be TWICE as much for similar accessories for Nokia/ Motorola/ Ericsson etc - eg batteries, chargers.

Absence of games is good because one doesn't fidgit with the phone much. Looks sexy. I've used the 3310, but nothing comes close to this phone, and for the price its worth every single penny.

Vijay Kumar Nema.'s Response to Nipun.'s Review

I do agree with the reviewer that the weakest point of this cellphone is speaker volume. It is quite low and in noisey place it is very difficult to hear the incomming call conversation. In additon to this, its display is crystal clear when phone is in standby condition but as soon as you receive any call the small font size of incoming call id and phone no. which is constantly flickering , is almost too difficult to read. The battery discharges very rapidly in standy mode and the claim of samsung for standby mode duration almost goes down to 12 Hrs. If these hicups are removed from the phone, phone is very much worth its value

“I purchased this phone on BT cellnet last summer and...”

★★★★★

I purchased this phone on BT cellnet last summer and was amazed by the clear uninterupted quality of speach far better than a 8210.
The phone is very light 90g looks sexy and charges from flat in about 90 minutes.
It has the strongest vibrate alert i have ever felt.
I only have one problem with this phone - the call quality is not as loud as could be, it's reasonable but has to be set on the highest setting.
I have since brought and 8210 and 3310 and must admit I still have a strong feeling for the Samsung SGH 2400.
