Skoda Uk Customer Service Is A Dishonest, Unfair Cover Up!
I have vowed to post this review on reviews sites everywhere, to warn others about Skoda UK. The reviews won't be removed until Skoda UK provide fair and honest service towards their Customers.
I purchased a used Skoda Octavia for £ 9,000 from a franchise Newmarket Skoda in Stirling. The car was the exact model and after checking the top reviews was everything to expect, hence I was prepared to travel the 700 round mile trip to make the purchase..A week after purchasing my Skoda developed a problem with the in car entertainment system, where the screen turned white and the system was dis-functional. After doing some research on the net it turned out the problem has been a problem for many other Skoda Owners. Despite Skoda UK and the franchise receiving my emails and phone calls the Franchise and Skoda UK would not cooperate. In fact they were placed 3 months of not cooperating via placing tactical obstructions and denial in my pathway, as opposed to honesty, support and customer service they claim to portray in their Reviews. After 3 months of delay caused by them, they then claimed the warranty had run out and said the item was not covered. Legally the fault is covered under the sale of goods act for used goods and should be rectified free of charge. The experience of Skoda UK in this case shows they have acted dishonestly and unless you want to experience the same with any item which may go wrong, then you are best to Avoid SKODA UK!

Unwanted Acceleration
my 2012 Octavia tdi accelerates of its own accord and has caused me to have at least one collision the problems mainly appears when decelerating and is so bad that I have to disengage gear when approaching roundabouts because the acceleration blips upwards with resulting speed up needing brakes to be applied. If I drive according to gear shift advisor fuel consumption rockets. the dealer says it is a anti stall feature and states all is as should be . Cant wait to get rid

The Octavia Is A Great Drive. It Is Essentially A
The Octavia is a great drive. It is essentially a Volkswagen Golf meets Audi A3. It drives the image of the golf. 1.6 best value as 2.0 not faster - 0-60 11.9 vs 11.7.

The Skoda Octavia 1.6 Ltrs A/t Ambient Limo, Is A
The Skoda Octavia 1.6 ltrs A/T Ambient Limo, is a fine car at the cost acquired. In its class are the likes of Volkswagin Bora 1.6ltrs. As is known, they bear about the same engine type and to a great extent the same body parts since the Skoda cars were acquired by VW. In 1 year the car was able to deliver 35,000km with attendant bad roads. Within the period, it was only casualty to a falled radiator fan which caused engine temperature to rise beyond the 90 deg celcius mark. Subsequent problems on the heels of that was a leaking gear box bearing seals, which was blamed on milleage (total revs). Next was leaking air conditioner evapourator which incidental has affected more than 80 percent of the cars VW Bora and Skoda Octavia cars sold within my locality, maybe this is a given. This demanded an outright change out as there is no repair remedies. The final blow is the incident of elctrical/electronics shutdown when going for full engine power, like is required in over taking/quick acceleration etc. This momentarily knocks off the ignition/engine, open up all automatic door locks, switches off and zeros the dash board clock as well as puts on all dashboard indicator lights. All these happen in split seconds. Quite a minance when on high speed. Happens an average of once per hour in steady ride. Other issues are the falling-off / breaking of plastic body members e.g egine oil dip stick, door rubber lining (water seals), seat belt door frame cover etc. My latest worry is getting ingnition/spark plugs suitable for my car as it does not tolerate regular sparks available. Would be a perfect car at its price if total insurance cover is attainable for either 100,000 km or at least 2 years warranty (to cover these mentioned defects or faults).

Skoda Octavia 1.6 Estate Car Reviewone Problem
Skoda Octavia 1.6 Estate Car ReviewOne problem is that the roads in Latin American Countries like the one I live in can ruin the bumpers. The bumpers are made a little bit too low and tend to get scratches and end up in bad shape pretty fast. As for highways such as in the U.S. or Europe the make is fine.

I've Got A Skoda Octavia Estate 1999 T'reg. My Box
I've got a Skoda Octavia estate 1999 T'reg. My box was distoyed on tick over when I tried to reverse, now the casing has an 8 inch crack in it and won't hold oil so I can't exchange it for a reconditioned unit, so it's a new box at over £1,100.

I Have Had My Skoda Octavia 1.6 Estate Car Since A
I have had my Skoda Octavia 1.6 Estate Car since august 04, and I can say that on the whole I'm quite happy with it.
The good reputation that the Octavia has compelled me to buy one. The car feels fun to drive most of the time, and you feel quite safe in the cabin as the structure seems solid.
The ride feels good too, but you do get some quite loud road noise at times, which is a shame as the engine is very quiet when stationary.
The car takes turns well, as you feel like it hugs the road, and the ABS brakes work well.
Sadly the suspension at the front is a litte too soft, and because the Octavia is so low at the front, it is sometimes impossible not to make contact with the road (causing slight damage at times).
I have been told that all Octavia's suffer with this problem (so speed humps and pot holes are not your friends).
I've had some problems with poor connections from the dashboard and the number plate lights, but this is no more of a problem than with any other car I've driven.
The 1.6 engine is a little lacking in power for the size of the car, but most of the time the ride is ok, if you remember to change down a gear when you come to go up hill.
You do feel like you will get where you're going safely though, which for me is the main reason I've kept the car and not changed it for something more powerful.
The boot space is good, and is just what you'd expect from an estate car.
On the whole I'd recommend the Octavia as it is very good value for money and for what you get, you'd pay a lot more if you wanted the same specification from another make.
