I like the Apple Powerbook G3 Firewire Laptop, but not completely. The heaviness is alright but sometimes I think it is bulky (mainly when I see a TiBook). I would recommend that one buys this, it is nice.

The Apple Powerbook is perhaps a more prestigious brand than the Macintosh. Since the G3 range came out a couple of years back, many Mac users use Powerbooks exclusively. They are true desktop replacement. The G3 processor is the same full-blooded unit fitted to some of Apple's desktop range, not a cut-back 'mobile' solution like the Mobile Pentium III. This machine has SVHS port, dual Firewire channels, 10/100 ethernet all as standard with using PC cards! On the road and sharing informations with Windows computers, the fact that it's a Mac makes no different - most types of data can be handled fluently. The Mac desktop is very good, the PowerBook is excellent.

Excellent information, especially about G3 vs. Mobile Pentium and the ability to exchange data. Made my mind up to invest in a PowerBook and not a laptop.
