Jacqueline Wilson, nick Sharratt, Girls Under Press
Jacqueline Wilson,Nick Sharratt, Girls Under Pressure - This is a story about a girl named Ellie, an ordinary 13-year-old girl who was on diet because she thought that she was too fat. Ellie thought that she was not good enough and she wanted to look like her two best friends, Nadine and Magda. Magda was attractive and fashionable. Nadine was tall and pretty. However, Ellie thought she was nothing, she was not good enough and she was under a lot of pressure.
Ellie's family was worried about her because Ellie did not eat at all and got weaker and weaker. Ellie was a moody teenager so she did not listen to her family at all because she thought that she was very fat but she actually lost a lot of weight. During Christmas, Ellie went to Wales with her family. In Wales, Ellie met Dan who became Ellie's boyfriend. However, Dan made a new girlfriend, which upset Ellie. However, Ellie still got over it.
My favorite character in this book is Anna who was Ellie's stepmother. She was an understanding mother although she was not Ellie's real mother. However, Anna showed care towards Ellie and tried her best to be nice to Ellie.
In this book, it has a typical girl problem which girls would be very interest in it. Overall, this is a very interesting book and I think most of the girls would love to read it.
My favorite quote in the book is: "I liked the old Ellie; you've lost some of your sparkle. You are pale and drawn looking. I was mad to encourage you with that stupid diet. You've lost too much weight."
