OLDER ROVERS ALWAYS HAD ENGINE PROBLEMS. THE COMMON PROBLEM EVERY ROVER HAS IS THE HEAD GASKET. DO NOT BUY ROVER SIMPLE. BUY SOMETHING ELSE INSTEAD. MY BROTHER IS A MECHANIC SO I KNOW ABOUT CARS .

I have had a Rover 620i for about 2 years (second hand, imported from Italy), starting at 115 000 miles and personaly added 10 000++. New battery, oil, filter, belts and then only fuel since... Very hard to get parts, especialy outside UK. Prices on spare parts in Eastern Europe are double that in UK and some weeks waiting.

ive had this Rover 620i for 3 yrs done avg 16-20k per yr now its 124k and still going much better than my prev Vectra which was newer than my Rover. The body work starting to erode in the famous back wheel arch nr bumper but the car is now 13yrs old, other than this there are no bad points People that don't like Rover generally Drive cars like Renault and Peugeot and never tried anything else I've had x3 Peugeots and 1 Citroen and the Rover beats them all hands down!

My 1994 Rover 620i was my 2nd car when I was 19 after my old Allegro blew up. I still miss the old Rover, I loved the styling, the comfy ride and interior, the smooth powerful engine and the reliablity - it just kept going and going even after 170k miles. It was one of those cars that after a long hard day, you could sit back in and relax.
I didn't like the funny over-sensitive clutch, slippery handling and ultra light power steering.
Overall, its a cheap, comfortable, British, smooth old exec saloon that wont bust your wallet to run. Pick a nice one up for around £500-850. The 600 series will be sought after one day.

I've owned this car for 3 years, bought with 101.000 on the clock, now 108k! No problems other than a new brake servo (£500), and new battery (£80), live the life of luxury for a retail of £800!

I have had my Rover 620i family car for 5 years now and it is my first car and I'm 22. It has now done 198,000 miles and is still going strong as long as I repair things ASAP as I find them. I also have a caravan and it is fantastic at towing it as well. I beat most 4x4's up hills on motorways. I can't fault it and love it and cant bear to part with it. Everyone should have one and ignore the old man image. A car should be bought for it's practical side not it's image.

Overall the Rover 620i , lpg G3 is a very good car. The gear shifts are precise, the handling is a doddle and it has good acceleration. Motorway millage is very good, city driving can be a pain as fast acceleration in low gears eats away at the petrol very fast. Great styling, good ride.

I bought the Rover 620i in 1999 when it was 3 years old. I was in love with the thing - until i took it down to London. It was louder on the motoray than my old car (1989 cavalier 1.8GL). beacuse i saved a lot of money to buy it, i didn't have the heart to sell it. Now i have learned to live with it, and i am glad i have done so, because it is cheap to run, the parts aren't expensive, and the sterring and performance are great. Its now covered 70k, and although the bodywork and engine are pristine, with absolutely no rust or scratches at all, the interior is starting to rattle. but i still love it.

I have owned a Rover 620i for 4 years and I blo*dy love this car. I can't complain about a thing, it is the dogs Bits. It's smooth, fast and sexy. I love the attention she gets without needing any modifications. I love the surprise in peoples faces as they TRY to race it. Believe me, this is no old fuddy duddy's car... It was me waving at you out of the rear window as I was overtaking you. Another good point is that you can help any one without a proper car by letting them park in your boot in busy car parks. This car has got to be one of the best looking cars us ordinary people can afford.

I totally agree, also a superb towing car.
<br>My only reservation is the silly door switches that keep breaking.
