I think the Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX lens is a perfect 55-300 mm F4.5-5.6 G ED VR Zoom. It comes with a fair price, compact and lightweight, and very powerful wide range telephoto for DX cameras, as well as excellent optical performance. Also want to warn you that Won't fit on film or FX cameras with this lens, Manual focus is crummy. Its optics and VR overall are superb.

I've not had this long but so far so good for this lens. A fantastic zoom for such a good price and the super quality is as expected from Nikon. I hadn't used eGlobal before but I have been impressed by the service. The lens arrived within week, excellent! I would recommend both the fantastic lens and eGlobal.

I had been looking for a lens for my camera when I came across this website. I had tried Amazon, Curry's etc., but when I was offered the same lens £40 cheaper I went for it. I realised it was coming from Hong Kong so was prepared for a long wait. To my surprise it was delivered to my door within 5 working days. Brilliant service and It was the genuine article, warranty by Nikon.

I am thrilled with my new lens and especially the price! I saved over £100 on the same lens in Argos! Ordering was easy and the delivery time fantastic. I was expecting to wait 7-10 days but it arrived in 3 days! Emails kept me informed of the progress of the order! I have only had a couple of goes with the lens but we are away a few days at Easter so will give it a good try out so far very pleased. I cannot go into all the technical bits because I am still very new to dslr! I have the Nikon d3200 with a kit lens but also wanted a zoom lens! I am not looking to collect expensive kit at the moment so this was a fantastic price and as I had birthday money and got it a such a low price I only put a little bit towards it! Looking for a nice ladies camera bag to keep it all in now!!!!

I bought it in June 2012 for my first professional Nikon camera. Although I am an amateur, it was quite easy to use and I had no problems with it. I took bird pictures from a very far distance and the pictures were fantastic. It was so light in weight, didnt make me feel exhausted. VR is the main quality of the product. Although i was in a moving boat when taking pictures, they came aout as if i took them by tripod. The pictures were not affected by vibration at all! It definetly worths for the price.

After looking to add to my D3000's factory bundled 18-55 lens I was initially looking for a 55-200 motorised lens, but found there to be a Nikon AF-S 55-300 lens available, perfect I thought, I could reach the 300mm my now redundant (no internal motor in Nikon D3000) 70-300 lens gave me, but without the 55-70 gap.
I read numerous reviews, and bar the professional reviews saying that the autofocus was a little 'slow' couldn't find anything untoward.
I have been totally happy with the speed of the focus, even on moving subjects, and the VR (Vibration Reduction) technology makes for a nice stable image - meaning you don't always need a tripod, or nearby wall/railing to lean on.
I think the lens 'may' be slow if compared to a flagship camera body coupled with a pro lens taking photos of F1 cars - but I can't compare performance.
The lens is well built, and comes with hood, 2 caps, and a nice pouch which has a reinforced end. - if you're looking to protect your lens you'll need a 58mm filter. It's quite a length, protruding from the front of the camera body by a little over 5" - so take this into account with your current camera bag - I can't use it with a Lowepro Rezo 140.
I purchased the lens from an online outlet (Simplyelectronics - great service, great communication, and fast delivery) for a very aggressive price (this type of product is based on spec's, I don't see what additional service a high street shop can offer for a lens purchase, bar immediate availability - if you can wait 2 or 3 days for delivery buy online and save some money.
I would thoroughly recommend this lens.

If you go to a good high street professional camera shop, such as Mifsuds, you can get advice to help you to not waste your money, and you might also find that the price is not much different to other online stores. Also you can touch and compare products, while talking to someone who knows them intimately.
