This Shoreditch nightspot has been open since last summer, initially attracting pretty poor reviews. I got to try it out on Saturday, when I went to see one of my favourite DJs playing at the Bugged Out! night that was on. The DJ in question was Fake Blood, who used to play under the name of DJ Touche (from the Wiseguys). I thought the club was a pretty good space - there are two rooms (one upstairs, one down) and the DJs were all playing in the downstairs room. You could still hear the music in the second room, but felt a bit weird having a second room with no other entertainment - maybe they do on other nights. The queues for the bar were never particularly long, and the drink prices we reasonable.
However, I thought the sound system was pretty poor. When I go and see a DJ play I want the bass to be so loud that that your ears are ringing the next day. You didn't get that here - in fact, it was pretty easy to talk to the person standing next to me. That's not to say it was quite, I was just wasn't particularly impressed with it.
Still, pretty sure I'll end up there again at some point.
