The Philips Fisio 820 is a very good phone for its weight and size and price.

The Philips Fisio 820 isn't a very good phone. I cant belive I brought it! You cant download anything to it like you can with Nokia's. The voice recognition is bad and there is not even 1 game you can get for it. It always froze on me too! But i've got a new fone now.

To be honest, I did actually quite like the Philips Fisio 820 mobile phone to start with. I could put pictures on my screen and it was the first colour phone I had ever had.
Sadly, it was very short lived. After a couple of months, the battery failed and Philips took 3 weeks to replace my phone. The '2' button sticks continually, on both my original phone and on the replacement. You can't actually see the screen when it is sunny. There is never an adequate signal. The predictive text system doesn't save your words so you have to insert them over and over again. The battery life is pitiful - in comparison to my friends Nokia, it lasted approximately 30% of the time. Nowhere will allow you to download ringtones to it, leaving you with the dire selection originally on the phone.
Every one of these phone should be taken away and smashed and each owner of the phone should be compensated for ever having to use this piece of telephonic sputum.

By far the worst phone I have ever owned - counting the days until I can upgrade or, more likely, sever my contract with Orange. I would write a long review detailing all its faults but frankly this phone isn't worth it. In short every aspect of the Fisio 820, apart possibly from its looks, is awful beyond belief. What were Philips thinking? More to the point, what were Orange thinking when they added this phone to their range? Orange claim they test all candidates for suitability - they could not even have switched on this utter turkey of a mobile. I have been an loyal Orange customer for seven years. No more, and Orange have the Philips Fisio 820 to thank.

Don't even think about buying one of these. I got mine on a free upgrade but feel well and truly robbed. And yes, it has been back to Philips for appropriate remedial maintenance. Yuck!!!

This is the worst phone I ever had! I was duped by the colour screen but regretted it the first time I used WAP or texted, should have taken it straight back when it did not switch off the first time I used it. It has got worse over time now the keys work interminently! Also entering names into the directory is pants, it asks for last name then first name and presents it this way so instead of john smith you get smith john!
Wap, I can sit next to my wife and attempt to race her motorola, same network and she will always get connected first, her pages load faster and when she is finished she just quits, I have to go into menu and select exit.
The keys are difficult if not impossible to use failing to register when pressed!

Three words for it....PANTS PANTS PANTS! I can't wait for my contract to expire. The phone is difficult to negotiate around, the WAP service doesn't work very well, the graphics and images provided are embaressing, and no one else supplies personalised accessories for the phone. I got this for free with my orange contract and to be quiet honest they shouldn't even be giving it away let alone selling it

the only good point about the fisio 820 is that some day i won't own it anymore!! please, please, pleeaaseee...listen to wots been said this is a scummy phone!! i have never got bluetooth to work, even when 2 of us sit with the phones touching for about 2 bloomin hours!! no games (can't find any where to get them either) can't find ringtones, can't find pictures.....basically so many can'ts. So heed my words, it would be better for you to get yogurt pots on string instead of this phone!!

Fisio 820 is an amazing phone I have ever seen before, top marks to Philips for producing great mobile phone. Very attractive small and with lots of features. But no data cable for downloading! I am looking forward to see new models from Philips like new Philips 330, 530, 630 especially Philips 530 is looking amazing and having some great features!

The Philips Fisio 820 has to be the worst phone I've ever owned. I got it for free from Orange - and I still think I paid too much. It crashes all the time. It has no games at all. The voice recognition is rubbish. It scratches so easily that after a month it looks like I've owned it for a decade.

I have had such frustrations with the Philips Fisio 820 ever since I got it and I have finally sent it back to Philips demanding a replacement. I found some reviews on this phone quite promising, however now I wish I had looked further. Philips have informed me that they are low on stock at the minute but will deal with me ASAP, it's now been a week so I'll give it another couple of days. I keep my fingers crossed that they will replace my mobile with something that works. At the minute I am looking on the bright side in that at least my bills are low, the phone became such a chore to use with it's unreliability that I rarely used it.

Do not choose this phone it is a waste of time, The only time you can make a call is when you have full reception and even then it can make you sound like a Darlek. I had to have this phone replaced once also because the battery gave up cutting out the power intermitantly. Stay away!

The biggest pain with the Philips Fisio 820 is the unavalable accessories. The USB cable is impossible to obtain. I have been trying to obtain one for 8 months and Phillps are USELESS at assisting, just saying contact our agents Dutch West and Dutch West blaiming Phillips for non supply. This means that the phone does not do what it is advertised as being able to do as you cannot down load or upload to it. Even the Bluetooth will not talk to the computer. Reception through Orange poor

Yes this phone has very little ability, I wish that I had purchased a nokia. I can not download any ringtones, and the default ones with the phone are very ordinary!

Very dissapointed with this phone. Very poor quality display and ordinary ring tones. Linda - Australia

I'm glad it not just my phone that's not very reliable as i've had nothing but problems. Mainly with the network, i'm with orange, but i never seem to have a full signal, therefore phone cuts out the whole time. It does freeze, it does weird things when it has low battery and basically i really miss my reliable old nokia 3210. Another thing that annoys me is the sound of the text messages, there's only the one and it's not very nice. so there we are!

Horrible phone, looks the part but unusable in real life! Voice recognition rarely works, navigation truly diabolical, and the worst is that it just will not work where other phones will. I now have to 'upgrade' to get rid of the stupid thing. You listening, Philips?

It's a wicked phone it's small and easy to use!! Every one is jealous cause is small and looks fantastic!!

Got phone on contract 6-8 months ago when the phone was fairly new on the market. Had locking up problems almost straight away, but taking off the back of the phone resolved the problem, so it didn't worry me. About 2 months ago problem got much worse, so reported problem to orange, who had no idea what I was talking about. Orange "eventually" decided to replace the handset with a new one. New phone has not shown any of the previous problems, which must mean that the early phones were probably rush jobs to get their colour screen phone out ahead of the competition.

Absolutely rubbish, WASTED £50 on contract while the phone was out of Action, phone Freezes switches off and not on

When asking for replacement always demand brand new phone. The refurbished models will carry the same faults. Working for an engineering company myself I know how management press for release to maximise profits, so the first generations of this phone will more than likely not have been development tested properly.

The replacement i have been sent works without fault, even the bluetooth works. Had it for 3 months. Not a cut off, freeze or any of the other problems that orange had apparantly had never heard of. The early models of this phone pre dec 2002 are very very poor. Demand a brand new replacement if you have one and it will be one of the best phones you will ever own.
Oh except for the cacky battery.

Absolutely agree -- not only the worst mobile phone I've ever owned, but now the worst piece of technology I've ever owned.

Freezes, sometimes turns off, sometimes won't turn off, won't store numbers, can't tell the time, goes from full to empty battery in 30 mins (but only when it wants to)... I could go on but if you're still considering buying one then you need your head read.

I'd never buy another Philips mobile phone after owning this one. (By the way I've had three handsets so it's not a faulty one-off, it's a problem with the hardware itself.)

It is absolutely useless it freezes up constantly, turns itself off and on, data cable that is non existant in the shops, GET this phone at your peril you have been warned !!!!!.

I have been using the 820 for almost a year now, I have never had bad reception, anywhere. The bluetooth works well with the Headset I already had as well as synchronisation with my PC. The screen isn't all that, but the pictures and games I downloaded work well. It isn't a T68i or T610, but it is a worthy effort and works well. In SA they ship them with an extra battery, but mine usually works for about a week before I need to recharge. I use my phone a lot and get sms'ed about 20 times a day. The phone is kewl.
