“Poor Customer Service”

Involved in a car accident Christmas day so expected to wait until 27th December for anything to happen. The person who initially dealt with the claim was great but since then the experience has been very poor, car only collected today after chasing up and complaining and no courtesy car delivered to replace the car. Informed a courtesy car will not be issued until repairs take place which could be some time, this is not clear in the policy document and churchill are clearly doing the bare… Read Full Review

“Buyer beware..the dog bites.”

Renewed policy although it had an increase of approx £50, (I hadn't had any claims) I paid in full and received my certificate within the week,4 weeks later I received another letter from CHURCHILL to say due to regulatory changes I was not now covered for breakdown but could add it for an extra charge as last years was free ! What a rip off..why did they not tell me of this before I renewed, I will not be feeding the dog next year… Read Full Review

“Not interested in pursuing claim - even when not your...”

Whilst my car was waiting at some traffic lights a large van reversed up the street behind me (so was on the wrong side of the road)and collided with the back of my car, causing damage. The driver got out and three times admitted that he "...just hadn't seen I was there". He had just made a delivery to a shop in a narrow pedestrian zone behind and was reversing back in a hurry to turn round. He had not thought to get anyone to watch him back, or to get out and look. “post sales time wasting”

I have been driving for number and have 10 years no claim bonus. After accepting my policy and taking my payment a week later I received a letter asking me to ring them for clarification. I rang them on the 0845 Number provided they kept me waiting for around 30min. When someone finally picked the questions they asked were all answerable from my application form eg who paid for it and asking how many days I and my Co driver would be driving the car. Swopped vehicles, change insurance from my old car to my new car, along with the NCD, received a letter that my insurance would be cancelled if I could not prove the NCD, rang the helpline and she said I needed proof from my old car, OK stupid cow, its there in front of you, same policy different car, Churchill you need to train your staff and not have your customers having to tell them how to do theirs… Read Full Review

“Poor Customer 'Care'”

Made a terrible mistake in transferring my allegiance for car insurance to Churchill. In over 50 years of motoring I have never experienced such confusion and lack of customer care - and the cheapness of the premium is irrelevant (I bet it will be a lot higher next year). The problem ? Repeated demands by Churchill for proof of my maximum NCB. A couple of calls to the jokinglsy labelled 'Customer Care' centre resulted in much confusion, incorrect information and being told to 'write in'. I did… Read Full Review

“Waited twenty minutes to get a call through to amend...”

Waited twenty minutes to get a call through to amend my policy.It is always the same and when you mention the fact that ones time is precious you get an apology which is totally scripted and insincere. Why can't they employ more people to answer phones ? They make enough money and they might do something to keep existing customers happy. “seems we have been waiting forever for a certificate...”

seems we have been waiting forever for a certificate of motor insurance. Said they had sent it out but had not. They said they would send out on the 24th Jan but We received cert for our other car on the 25th.
So they obviously sent wrong one out. When phoning them again they said it had probably got lost in post. we explained in this curcumstance we couldnt tax the veh without certificate. Heres my recent experience with Churhill, having been insured myself for many years and including my husbands car recentley we have 3 cars insured with churhill. I claimed for 3 accidents in as many years all not my fault and never had any problems whatsoever the car was quickly taken away and repaired and customer service I thought was very good, yes you hang around on the phone and I felt I had to chase up a lot myself but that is probably similar to many.

Have you ever tried to contact Churchill on the telephone it can take hours even though their voice announcements say that you are at the front of the queue and it says that you shoudnt be longer than a minute, THanks for holding your are at the front of the queue now!!!! I have been with Churchill car insurance for about 10 years - always looking for other quotes each year. They are not the cheapest but only by a few pounds. I had two claims about 10 years ago in my first year with them. One for vandalism and another for a hit and run on my parked car. That time they were excellent. Claim was in January only now going through (August). Customer services at Churchill can be a bit unhelpful at times and I was often passed from pillar-to-post until I could get a decent answer - some even argumentative and rude in the way they answer you - as they think they are right (isn't it the customer is always right!?!?!).
