Bought a Seat Altea in Jan'2017 from PartExchange Centre. Waited till end of March to write review JIC .. No problems with car having covered 3000 miles .. Car was exceptionally clean and well presented for its age (12 years old on a 55 plate) and at a reasonable price. Really struggle to think of anything negative to say. Just my honest opinion. Look closely at the car (they gave me the keys and just let me crawl all over it). Check it's background on the government MOT history page and get an HPI check. Really can't complain and i'd certainly look there again when I need another one.

I bought a van 64plate got home used more diesel than expected but the 1st day i took it to work put a fuel tank thats when the problem started it was pouring from the engine called them they kept telling me to get it fixed at the dealer i did then second problem was water coolant kept leaking dealer couldnt see where from til i did service on the van its going into the engine i called again the best answer they gave me is go to the dealer it has warranty i have owned the van less than a month i have only used it for 4 days the rest it has being at the garage getting fixed. I have wasted money hiring a vans every week because this garage doesnt want to refund me under consumer right 2015 so i can go buy a better van worstpeople to deal with.

“Bought a car (VW) only for it to have engine fault...”

written by Krross_95 on 29/04/2014

Bought a car (VW) only for it to have engine fault before I got home. Returned it to be offered another car but told could only pick it up after it had been serviced. Then received a phone call only to tell me the replacement car had oil in water so they would have the original car repaired and serviced by a VW garage. It was over a month before the car was available to pick up and when it was the car was missing internal parts and spare wheel and no evidence of being at a VW garage. Took a further 3 months and then chasing to get these replaced. By this time the rear pads had gone on one side and calliper also needed replacing despite having done very little mileage since receiving car back. Overall lots of hassle, poor service, not impressed

“Be very, very careful before you buy. ”

written by on 06/09/2013

(This is my second review for this company. I could have had my original review reinstated after it was challenged by the Autoparc however upon careful reflection I feel it is necessary to provide a much more detailed and honest account of my experience being sold a dangerous & faulty car) I bought a 2001 Toyota Yaris in June 2013 for £1400 (£1300 + £100 admin fee). Initially, all seemed to be okay. There were a few things that needed fixing – the handbrake was at the end of its travel and needed tightening, there was a considerable amount of rusting to the under-body of the car and a headlight was extremely translucent. But since this would be my first car, the rust didn’t matter too much, the handbrake could be fixed no problem and the headlight could be cleaned out or replaced. I took it for a test drive and fell in love with it. I got the car home and I picked up on a couple of other things. The front passenger tyre was just legal, every single wiper blade was split and there was a chip in the windscreen. I phoned up to complain and was told the salesman would call me back. I had the tyre and wipers replaced and pondered what to do regarding the chip in the windscreen. For some reason, none of these things had come up on the MOT certificate. In fact, there were NO advisories listed at all. I’m no expert but surely the windscreen & wipers, and tyre would have been listed as advisories at the very least? My invoice stated (not the advert – my SALES invoice i.e. the legal document which should provide an accurate description of the goods being sold) that the car I was sold had 100,000 miles on the clock. However the MOT certificate provided an odometer reading of 102,192 miles. So the car had been falsely sold – I bought a car with 100,000 miles and was given one with over 102,000 miles. I checked the website to see if there was any disclaimer which gave allowances to approximating the mileage to within thousands of miles and although there was a disclaimer for the mileage on cars being ADVERTISED there is nothing to state this is also the case when signing a legal document of goods transfer. A couple of weeks later, I noticed my fuel tank leaking and an overwhelming smell of petrol. This time though, my car was collected within an hour of my phone call and the fuel tank was replaced free of charge and no arguments. My initial doubts about the dealership being legit were subdued and there were no other problems to speak of. In August, I took my Toyota for an interim service at a garage my family and I have trusted for many years. It was here that the problems started; the mechanic told me one of my shock absorbers was damp and the other was leaking. He pointed out that it would mean the car would fail an MOT test and as a result it was not safe to drive. There were at least 6 other components which were listed as corroded, perishing or deteriorating. I was not impressed. I phoned up to complain to a manager and ask for a return & refund. The co-managing director called me back and was rude and unhelpful. She told me I wasn’t entitled to anything and all the faults I had described were “fair wear & tear items” and they aren’t covered under my warranty which is a pathetic excuse. I said the car wasn’t safe to drive and fair wear & tear shouldn’t make a car dangerous – this would only be the case if these faults had been ignored for a long time, which they evidently had been. After some unsuccessful attempts to contact her again to discuss the same issues, she got back in contact after I threatened legal action. Again, she was rude to me and wouldn’t accept my concerns about my own safety and that of other road users. She ignored my complaint about the falsely represented mileage. I drafted up a letter for a rejection of receipt under The Sale of Goods Act and listed at least 3 sections where their company failed to fulfil their part of the contract of sale – including the misrepresentation regarding the mileage which is a clear cut offence, and allowed over a week for them to arrange a refund and collect the Toyota. I asked to speak to the managing director but he was apparently busy, so the receptionists handed it over for me (who, by the way were the only two helpful and respectful people I have encountered when I have been trying to sort this out). A day later I had missed a phone call from the company but nobody left a name or message. No further attempts to contact me were made for almost a week so I went in to see the managing director again. At first, he fobbed me off and said the items I described were only advisories, that I was expecting far too much for the car I had bought and an attempt to take the case to court would be unsuccessful, despite all of the documents I had proving the car was faulty to the point of being unroadworthy and knowingly mis-sold.  Eventually, he offered me a sum of money for my car which didn’t even cover half of my losses. I refused and he made another offer which I begrudgingly accepted. He was adamant I brought the car to him but I said no because it’s dangerous. He said somebody would collect the car in a couple of hours and bring a cheque. He then tried to berate the car I have now (A 2004 Seat Ibiza SX which I bought privately for an absolutely fantastic deal in an immaculate condition and with a tiny mileage) and insisted that I let him look at it in his workshop. I don’t understand why he suggested this at all. Besides, I wouldn’t trust anybody in that company after the appalling excuse of a car they allowed a 20 year old girl to drive out on the road, so I politely declined.   I would beg and plead with anybody who is interested in buying a car here to go somewhere else; anywhere else but here. I may have been naïve at first but it seems I am not the only one who has had problems with a dangerous car. Please don’t risk your safety because you think you’re getting a good deal here. As another reviewer has said these are simply cheap & faulty cars being sold at premium prices. P.S. there were a larger number of reviews posted here however at least half of them have been challenged and temporarily removed – believe me they were shocking.

I bought a car last year from here and have had nothing but bother. I feel like the car should never been sold to me and I do not understand how it had a MOT certificate. I have looked at this review page a lot and would like to know if any of you have been to the papers or actually had any success getting your money back...There are to many people complaining and there is nothing changing. Is it going to take something serious to happen before someone acts ?

If your not happy you can contact VOSA to have a re-test within a 3 week period after issue date of current MOT cert. (I think its 3 weeks or there abouts)
If things ate found which will be a fail then the re-test is free. If all is ok then you must pay. I think you pay up front for the test then get the money back if the car fails.

I know this as I was going to do it to the car I purchased from the AP.

Contact me via my email which I have set up. I'm in contact with others on here to see if I can assist in getting satisfactory conclusions to their situation. The more people on board the stronger each case will be.

“Mortified at behaviour ”

written by Hellel97 on 19/05/2013

My husband and I went to the Tyneside auto-park with the intension of purchasing 2 cars today after looking around for a while in different cars and being approached by different sales men several times,we decided to go back and look at 2 of the cars on our short list so whilst talking to one of the salesmen about a car for my husband he decided to completely ignore him and badly attempted to talk to me instead. After saying I liked a particular car he rushed us off to the back area of the park to look at what I would call the non runners. We told him that we had been talking to one of The other guys in the under 5k area already but he ignored us showed us a few cars . I then said that we were interested on one car and wanted to think about it, so he walked away as he did the sales man we had spoken to previously about a car attacked the other guy within earshot of us. We were so disgusted with this behaviour that I would never step foot In this place again, and I will be going to the paper about it . I am just so glad that my son wasn't with us to witness such unprofessional behaviour from grown men

Most of the reviews on here tell a tale that I know so well. Even one of the positive reviews is rereviewed months later after the customer has found faults (that were disguised) with the car. I bought my car for ample more than it was worth and it needed repairs after I bought it so I doubt very much that it was checked over. Sales reps appear very friendly but be warned - go elsewhere to avoid aggro and unexpected costs. If you like gambling with your money, then buy here, but if you want a decent car at a decent price, go elsewhere...

These People will promise you the world prior to sale. Once they have your money They don't want to Know you! You will not have any calls returned. You will have to make numberous trips back and forth for the simplest of repairs to be carried out. The workmanship of their technicians is worse than shoddy (This is being kind). Take a good look around...You will see lots of unhappy people wanting mechanical/electrical repairs carrying out on the cars they have just perchased (with MOT's). They WILL get the run around. These people know how to work the system to their advantage passing complaints from one Teflon person to another Teflon person. This company has no customer service aftercare! This company has no mechanical service aftercare. They are too busy fighting fires!! IMO(Quality issues with stock!) From one still unhappy customer, Look before you leap into shark infested waters. After a couple of months of this review being posted a representative of Tyneside Autopac Contacted the review centre expressing their concerns about my review. The review centre temporally removed this review while they ascertained my position regarding the review posting.

I stand firmly behind my review as I believe people should be made aware of my experience with Tyneside Autoparc before they make any decisions to part with their hard earned money.

My question is how many other reviews have been removed upon request then not reinstated simply because people can do without the hassle?
Will this give a false rating of Tyneside Autoparc?

PS. I only gave one star because there was no other lesser option!

I can appreciate this must be a fire fighting damage limitation exercise for you. However I fail to see what beneficial outcome a meeting would achieve. The Autoparc had ample opportunity to put things right but failed or refused to do so!

The more people who post their own reviews, good and bad can only help paint a true picture, giving an honest reflection of this trader and its business ethic!

As much as your comments support my experiences with this company, It does not help others to decide objectively before parting with their hard earned via the star rating guide used by the review center.

Totally agree with your comments, i did take the opportunity to talk to the AP and after a huge battle for my rights, i hope he took it on board, it shouldn't be up to the strong willed people who only want fair treatment and what they where promised and paid for and who are willing to pursue the fight to gain justice to make him realise not all people are willing to do this, these are the people who are taken advantage of at their cost and his gain, all people who deal with him should be given the same rights and respect because they are his bread and butter, the sooner this is realised the better for his company, it,s not all about huge profit because first impressions last, and even though i got my issue resolved i shouldn't,t have had to do what i did to get it, most people let it go and they are the losers but hopefully they learn by there mistakes and so does he.

Thanks

Hi, though i agree with your comments i don,t think a meeting would achieve anything and would only frustrate both of us by bringing up what was a bad experience for us both, if you read the newly listed reviews you will see we are not alone and this will continue to go one until all the unhappy customers take it upon themselves to pursue justice like i did, sooner or later the volume of complaints to the relevant body will draw close attention to this problem and hopefully take action to fix it. Thanks.

“Very good service”

written by NigeW on 15/06/2012

Bought a Skodia Fabia at a reasonable price back in May. Day after we brought it home we noticed a flat tyre. Notr their fault but they sorted it out for us. A week or so later we needed the handbrake adjusting. They sorted it all with the minimum of fuss. All in all a very happy experience with sales and service staff. A particular mention must go to the people that deal with you on the phone - very helpful and couldn't do enough for us.

As these cars are sold with full 12months MOT to have the handbrake issue one week after purchase is a big fail within the MOT. If they ignore such things as handbrakes when MOT testing then what else is overlooked.

I had issues with my brakes which the AP covered up then gave me the car back to drive........!

“ford car exchange”

written by beedee on 04/05/2012

My ford ST tdci estate was too big and fast for my wife so i looked at a number of dealers within a 70mile range with a veiw to an exchange to something a little smaller. I called Tyneside Autoparc after a number of calls to other motor traders fell flat. What a revelation, as within 15minutes of chatting to Chris we had done the deal on a Mondeo GhiaX which took my wifes fancy after seeing it on a national auction site. Now remembering that Chris hadn't seen my car {i discribed it honestly] what arrived a couple of days later on my doorstep was a gleeming Mondeo GhiaX complete with 1years warranty, 1years breakdown cover, 1years MOT and 6months road tax, and the pics didn't do it justice. It is an absolute dream to drive, even the wife likes it. So a great big THANKYOU to all concerned. Kindest Regards Brian

Hi,
Why not contact the review center and ask if you can amend the star rating to reflect your true feeling. leaving it at 5 stars after the issues that have been found can only give a false rating and lull unsuspecting customers into a false sense of security.
