“Diabolical Aftercare and Severe Lack of Empathy. ”

After initially praising and recommending this store (they are brilliant and knowledgeable when getting your initial order and money) I was left incredibly upset and disappointed by their diabolical aftercare. The travel system sold to me, developed two faults in less than two months use. Either of which could have resulted in the injury or death of my baby. i bought a parasol from this website on 10th august 2017 which said they had it in stock. the company then took my money and then emailed me days later saying they didnt have it in stock. they then assured me they would keep in regular contact to when i would recieve my item. Nearly two months later after my emails being ignored and no updates on when my item will arrive i still have no item ! I tried to order 2 items on this website, but the transaction would not complete, therefore I went elsewhere. I received no confirmation email, no transaction number, nothing. Fast forward one week and I receive en email from DPD saying my parcel from Baby Birds was on its way, what?!? Anyway, I check my account and the payment had gone through, but I definitely had no email at the time of the attempted purchase (Friday evening 2220pm). I purchased a pram/ pushchair and accessories after speaking at length to sales staff. After using the pram we found it was not at all suitable for our needs and should not have been recommended to us. There were severe problems with steering, handling and suspension. We were told it was a common fault, so why if this product frequently has issues is it being recommended? The pram was returned for repair and it came back in a far worse state than it. I ordered the Infant Snug Insert for my Uppababy Vista. The product showed as in stock, payment was taken, as we'll as £4.95 for 24 hour courier delivery. Great news as we needed the snug seat for a Christmas market this weekend.

I don't understand why you were so unhappy, if you placed order , why not ask if in stock, also if it was that urgent -why not just go buy item from john Lewis, to wait 4 days then to ask where it was seems you were not that much in a hurry, I found babybirds an excellent web site and the customer service to brilliant, I was a customer with mothercare and just about to make final payment for a £600 pram when my daughter spotted same pram for £150 less, no problem at all, pram delivered free of charge and within 24 hours, Well done babybirds. Why say the owner is a mother with 2 young kids ?????? She may well be and if so, she is doing a marvellous job as well as trying to save us money.

Thank you for your incredibly empassioned review of my review! To address your points - I am not in the habit of asking retailers if products for sale on their website stated as 'in stock' actually are. I assume that you didnt contact them after purchasing your pram to check whether they actually had any ,no, of course not, why on earth would you, who does! I didnt go to John Lewis to buy the product because they had the decency to state that they did not have it in stock. I waited 4 days to give the company a fair amount of time (longer than the 24 hours that I was advised that it should arrive within - and the 24 hours that you were fortunate enough to receive your pram within). I am glad that you found them excellent - I did not. I can only give my own experience, of course. I mention that the owner is a mother of 2 young kids because I expect someone providing products for children to be a little bit more compassionate and ethical in their business practices and to understand that when it comes to products for children, that the parents often do actually need what they have ordered within a reasonable amount of time. A little bit of honesty and reliability goes a very long way. I stand by my review and will not use them again. Hopefully with one less person ordering they should have a bit more stock!

Completely understand your disdain for this company Mrsellis, does this mean everytime I order something online I need to actually ring the retailer first to actually make sure that yes the item is in stock at the website details, why stop there should I also confirm the colour and dimensions of product are also the same! I think you will find that Trading Standards would also be in agreement with you! Your custom was clearly not important to them, small businesses such as these rely heavily on returning customers, it's baffles me!
Although I received my order from this company it took over 10 days to arrive, thankfully it wasn't an urgent item, either way I was unimpressed and prefer kiddicare and mothercare, I mainly use this website so I can price match, then go to a company that know what they are doing and how to treat us valuable customers!

I ordered a oak shelf and proceeded to the check out . There wasn't any information of expected delivery times, so when I hadn't heard anything two weeks later we decided to email them . I to had excellent customer service from Baby Birds.
My delivery was dispatched within two days. Recieving a txt message saying when my delivery would arrive within the hour.

I had seachered for ages to buy new staps etc for my Balmoral coauch built pram. Many many thanks to the company.
