Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia

The Ford Orion Is the best Escort Variant for practibility and performance. The insurance is cheaper, they look better (in my opinion) and they have exactly the same tuning potetial as the Escorts & Fiestas. They handle modification well and respond to suspension mods very well as they come standard with a rear anti roll bar incorporating a load sensor (that can be adjusted). All the parts that fit on the escort also fit on the slightly bigger Orion (Engines, interior, suspension ect..) The first MK1 Orion (MK3 Escort) even had the same front panel as the S1 RS Turbo with the holes for the standard intercooler to fit in! They came with electric mirrors and sunroofs on some models and leather interiors with wood trim for the doors on a few special models (can't remember what they were called). So there are loads of bits that can obviously be used on escorts too, I am fitting the heated electric mirrors and electric sunroof to my MK3 Escort at the moment as they look standard but no-one else has done it that I have seen. The interior has a few nicer touches too with a better clock with stopwatch and a rear courtesy light and armrest, the rear shelf housed a first aid kit that can be removed for a subwoofer reflex tube to take its place. The Orions I have had also lacked an aerial for the radio too, they had the aerial incorporated into the rear window heater for a cleaner less complicated look (I have also fitted one of these to my Escort) The Ford Orion is a very underrated car for petrol heads and can look just as tasty as the Escort if not better.
