Debenhams / Mark Webster Designs - Elba Range

Wanted to share our nightmare to save others from a similar experience.

Bought the Elba range of bedroom furniture from Debenhams in August. Our order confirmation stated a delivery date in early September (4weeks). 4 weeks came and went so we asked when the delivery would be made. We were told that there had been an error and that it would take three months. We waited three months and still nothing not even a call to let us know what was happening. So we rang them - the furniture was on a ship and we could take delivery of a partial order if we chose to. Having waited three months we decided to accept. The furniture arrived via Mark Webster Designs. The two men delivering brought the furniture in and to our surprise the wardrobe was flat packed. The men put together the wardrobe (never having done it before) which took almost two hours (this is at 7 at night as they were running late!). We inspected the wardrobe and discovered it had been damaged badly during construction. The delivery men had placed the wardrobe in situ knowing they had damaged it! One even said - 'we have to let the customer find it if there's a problem!'Obviously we rejected the wardrobe to which the second man became quite rude and told us we had 'wasted his time' .... who's wasting who's time here? Anyhow, we cancelled the order and will have to wait a week for a refund. Our advice? Don't go near it - it might look pretty but it's honestly not worth the wait. We have just ordered from House of Fraser instead who we hope will step up to the mark!
