We Recently Visited Uganda With Some Friends. Bein

We recently visited Uganda with some friends. Being or first time in Uganda, we needed help to on places to visit and the attractions. We were able to get in touch with Lil Super Safaris http://www.ugandalastminute.com while searching for last minute safaris to Uganda. With speedy response to our inquiry and help we received from Martin, we were able to take the 9 days Uganda primate safaris. Just like the response, martin was prompt in ushering us into Uganda on arrival on 4th august 2010. He introduced us to our driver guide David who would be of great help for the nine days that we were to be in Uganda. David is so incredibly, kind, funny, intelligent, and above all, knowledgeable of all things Uganda. He has a vast knowledge of everything from the people & culture, vegetation, animals and food.

The first park we visited was the magnificent Murchison falls. With the water squeezing into a narrow gorge the view from the top of the falls was spectacular. Driving south though long, seemed short as David ensured that we were not bored by pointing out on each and every scene that came past us before we got to Kibale. We stayed at Primate Lodge. Chimpanzee trekking the next morning was fun as we looked at the young ones playing. Driving further south to Queen Elizabeth National Park where the main highlight was the boat cruise ride on Kazinga Channel. What an amazing way of game watching. The climax of our safari was the gorilla tracking in Bwindi. After the assembly at the park headquarters and allocation of groups, out we went in search of the big apes. When we came face to face with the mountain Gorillas, it was breath taking. Looking into the eyes of the gorilla, I felt that connection that makes us more o cousins. It is amazing to watch these big apes for the one hour we were there.

After a fun filled 9 days of adventure, it was time to get out of Uganda. This was the sad part as we had established a friendship with David. On this last day, Martin joined us for dinner and together with David they saw us off at Entebbe. I felt I let a part of me in Uganda and promised that I will be back soon. We will always thank martin and David for making our safari worth more than the value. Without them we would have chosen a different destination.
