“Never will I purchase anything from this store smyths...”

Brought my son a rebounder, within 1 hour of him having it, it broke. My son is a very small 7 year old boy so there is no way it should have broke so I took it back to ask for an exchange and the manager of the store was so rude and refused to take it back calling me a liar never have I ever felt so intimidated, so know I am stuck with a broken rebounder that my son can’t use which was a present for his birthday, on leaving the store and getting back into my car the manager who is supposed… Read Full Review

“Managers/ customer services need to learn to live a little”

Bought a car chair aged from 18 months to 12 years. No one from the store made me aware about no refunds or exchanges on ‘nursery items’ even though nursery items are for under 12 months old. No free fitting was offered, no awareness on refund policy. I even said to the colleague if it’s too wide I will exchange it for the other car seat that I bought and he said no problem. My mum bought a 123 car seat for my 18 month old daughter (9 months -12 yrs) and they couldn't check as my mum wasnt with my daughter at the time, once I realised the car seat was too big for her size, tried contacting then got told by 1 manager to take it back to store with receipt and they will handle it, took it back to store the next day and the woman (assistant manager I'm assuming) was giving me sporadic info, saying she trains her staff to complete relevant safety checks with child… Read Full Review

Went there a few days before Christmas, and of course it was busier than ever. That is not the problem, and I fully accept that busy times leads to stock outages and tired and frazzled staff. My 9 year old grandson saved up his pocket money and I took him into the Hull store to chose his own toy. He personally bought a £20 nerf gun.Unfortunately when he got home and tried to use it, the trigger action was much too stiff and strong for him to fire it and he was extremely upset and udisappointed with it. I bought a good few items online had my partner waiting in for the delivery all day as i had to work. I purchased 2 Sony PlayStation 4 pros, one is ok the other has a random black screen where sound and video disappear for a few seconds at random intervals. Despite informing them of this within 7 days of purchase they refused to exchange it and refused to refund it despite being within 7 days of the purchase. Now taking it further to get my money back. Ordered an inflatable pool online for £99 that claimed to fit in most cars. Picked up at Slough retail branch. We have a Mazda estate. Nope... didn't fit. I am a female and had a 4 & 6 yr olds in tow. You can imagine if it doesn't fit in the car how big and heavy the box was. Don’t purchase Xmas gifts early as you will not get a refund due to the 28day return policy. I purchased gifts of which 1 led to being faulty. After being made feel like an idiot by 3 young staff members whom have no customer care experience I was advised that I was out of the 28 day return policy and had to accept a gift card for £99.99. “Don't click and collect!!”

Smiths toys give people who have children two days to collect items and then if your children are sick and you can't make it until the 3rd day they cancel your order and keep your money for up to ten days which is probably a fortnight. It is impossible to send an e-mail to the branch you dealt with and when you ring their premium number you could be on for hours.
