“Not recognised car CD player.”

★★☆☆☆

written by phrane on 09/07/2017

Awful discs. Burned multiple mp3 discs and audio to play in Merc B class, but cd player immediately spat them out. Discs did play in some other stereo equipment, but all in all, this is one to avoid, unless desperate. Picked up Polaroid cd's from Asda (cheaper by 4p per disc) which did work in car okay.

“Excellent value for money!”

Must have burnt near a hundred data discs at 16x with no problems at all. Roughly one in 10 fails verifying, but this is isn't unusual for whatever brand/burn speed you try. Not bad at four DVD-R for a squid. Me thinks the others commenting here are burning DVD-R's wrong (probably at 24x).

“A mixed reaction really.”

They are ok for storing data like photos, documents etc... but pointless for movies, game backups etc as they dont work. I'm not sure whether they are made this way. Either way what do we expect for a £1. I wont buy them again, but I do buy the replacement dvd and cd cases made by Signalex which are perfectly fine.

“Terrible! Not a chance of working.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 22/11/2013

Fair enough, they are cheap. But if they are cheap they should still work. Really needed to burn stuff onto these tonight and I am thoroughly annoyed with the fact that they cannot even be detected on my laptop, which is new and in great working condition! Just because they are cheap at 1.49 euro for 4 discs, that doesn't mean they shouldn't work! Really annoyed with this product as neither 4 of the cd's worked. I do not like this product, as it does not meet up to its standard. I am feeling some false advertisement here! The packaging should state 'Do not work' because of the standard of them. Before I purchased, I certainly would have like to know if there were certain requirements these cd's need, because it certainly is a disgrace, they are definitely NOT 'IDEAL' as packaging states. I even went to the bother of buying cd cases for them, stupidly of me of course. In my defence, you would think they would have worked! 'Signalex Recordable CDS' is the name of this review. Certainly do not recommended. - Rachel

“Signalex DVD-R 120”

Basically they don't work so don't buy them, there cheap for a reason, Ive thrown mine in the bin, luckily I did pay much for them, my advice spend a bit more and get something the actually does its job. You can buy these from poundland but it will be pot luck if any work.

“2 out of 4 couldn't be written!”

I bought 4 Signalex DVD from Poundland but 2 of them couldn't be written! The computer says that they're blank but read only! I've burned hundreds of discs with my computer and it's the first time that this sort of issue have happened! I won't buy them any more! They're not so cheap since 50% of them didn't work!

“These disks Signalex dvd+r120 even though cheap from...”

These disks Signalex dvd+r120 even though cheap from pound shop should do the job they are designed for but they don't. I have burned many hundreds of disks over many years and even though the burning process finishes, the dvd is not readable. Says write speed of x16 on the dvd. I tried at x12 speed, x8 speed and x4 speed and none of the dvds are readable. Tried burning same files with a supermarket bought cheap disk and they burn fine. You get what you pay for these are a waste of money and considering the amount of disks you may lose you would be as well paying a little more from a more reputable store and brand. Lost a full pack so even only £1 still £1 down the drain.

agree m8. bang on . what a joke the dvds are lol. and u only get 3 now not 4 . was suprised at your score though lol, i would struggle to give them 0 out of 5 , considering none of them burn readable playable disk's ((((((((((. Pherhaps it was a better idea to buy them chocolates they where trying flog me at da till after all instead of dis cack. . But if you go other quid shops u can get emoticons m8. 5 for a quid ))))))) and they burn kool. not had 1 error yet and bin usin em few years now )). peace.

“These Signalex DVD-R120 discs are great value at 4 for...”

★★★★★

written by pcwiz11 on 13/10/2010

These Signalex DVD-R120 discs are great value at 4 for £1 (25p per disc). The media quality is not your normal cheap supermarket branded disc, these are very high quality Mitsubishi discs (MCC004). The media lasts a good while for DVD which is good. My only gripe is that despite being marketed as 16x speed discs, these discs are only compatible up to 8x, although that's not the end of the world. Overall the Signalex DVD-R120 is ideal for storing all your movies and data for the future.

I noticed on the packaging it said 16x but on closer inspection of the discs themselves they said 8x.... False Advertising.

Over the last few years I have bought the above product from pound land with good results, an odd disc wouldn't work for dubbing but that's acceptable. I have recently bought several packs from different pound land stores and none of them work anymore. Does anyone know why? I've used other brands which work so it's not my equipment. Thank you
