Paid a £200 holding deposit on car, drove from Norfolk, did 138 miles and spent 3 hrs driving to get there to be told on arrival they had sold the car to somone else. The other person was stil there when i arrived abd he had not rung to say he was coming or paid any deposit on the car. SO had 6 hrs driving just to have a 30 minute row and blood pressure that went through the roof.

Was going to buy an audi s4, they seemed helpful at first, paid the deposit but there was always something wrong with the car and they never got round to sorting it until my finance pulled the plug. But I had paid the deposit of 200 pounds and they wouldn't refund it! Horrible people when you find out what they are like too and no shock they are Muslim immigrants! Beware everybody!!!!

“Excellent service! Our 6th, 7th, and 8th purchase to date!”

★★★★★

written by MohamedObaid on 23/04/2012

This has now been our 6th, 7th, and 8th vehicles from Platinum Motor House. It's been a couple of weeks since our orders and as always we feel extremely satisfied with the service. Being motor traders ourselves, we regularly compare our purchase with others in the trade and feel that once again our purchase from Platinum Motors represents a phenomenal value for us in Dubai: both in quality and cost. In this age of high prices and poor customer service it is refreshing to see an organization that has managed to price its cars competitively and still provide exceptional customer service. These two business fundamentals help us feel that we have made another smart choice by dealing with Platinum. Rest assured that we will be back for more vehicle. You keep supplying them, we'll keep selling them. All the best Mohamed Obaid Al-Jaber Prestige Cars International

“Impressed with Platinum Motor-house's service, job...”

written by VictorTordoff on 17/04/2012

I decided that when I retired I would use part of my pension pot to fulfil a lifelong dream to own an Aston Martin. Having searched the web I was impressed with Platinum Motor-house's service and attracted immediately to a Quantum Silver Volante of which I'm now the proud owner. When I dealt with Platinum Motor-house, I found them very helpful and full of info on the Aston, the price settled it and the deal was done! I wanted them to arrange for delivery to Tuscany and they quickly arranged this so I was soon able to be driving the Volante around Florence where now it regularly turns heads resulting in several near accidents where drivers have taken their eyes of the road. One guy went straight across a mini-roundabout and up a kerb when totally distracted! Thanks to the team at Platinum Motor-house for their help and great customer service experience in buying my dream car, I'll certainly recommend them to anyone interested in buying a prestige vehicle.

“Would Happily Recomened This Company To Others!”

written by MariaHunter on 14/04/2012

I placed an online order with Platinum Motorhouse for an Audi RS5 as I was having trouble locating one that matched my requirements in Spain. The guys kept me informed at all stages of the process, and once they found one that I liked they got the paperwork started. I placed a 10% deposit to secure the vehicle, and was told the rest would be payable once they were ready to deliver the vehicle. Normally I'm wary of leaving a deposit with any company I've never dealt with as you hear all kind of horror stories in the internet. But after doing some research and making sure the company fully checked out I decided to go ahead. It's refreshing to find a company that actually delivers on it's promises. This is the first time I've dealt with Platinum and my experience was pleasant and hassle-free. Platinum Motorhouse surpassed all my expectations and I would happily recommend them top others.

“should be closed down! worst service EVER”

written by on 26/11/2011

Bought a black vauxhaul signum on 7th October. Advert on website and autotrader (and Allen conman salesman told me verbally) it had full service history and was in immaculate condition. He also told me it has just had a full service. After about 20 phone calls asking to come and test drive the car (each call was told by Allen to call back tomorrow)I eventually got to see it. test drove ok but was slight oil leak under car and engine management light was on. Car wasnt immacculate but in good condition for its age and Allen promised boh would be fixed and car buffed up before collection and I then bought the car. Allen promised he would post the servicde history as Lex leasing hadnt sent it to him yet. Engine management light came back on halfway home so as I live a long way away I called the next day...Allen told me to ring back tomorrow. This repeated for 7 weeks!!! During the 7 weeks i was asking for the service hisotry which eh said he was chasing Lex for. I aslo asked why logbook hasnt come. He didnt know! Eventually I asked an independant garage to look at the car. Exhaust been botched and is hanging off. Particulate filter blocked and needed flushing or replacing. oil filter knackered and needed replacing. Glowplugs need replacing. Two bald tyres (accepted I should have noticed this when i looked at the car). I called Allen to tell him...he said he would not be fixing any of this. But to take the car down for them to sort. Er no allen if your not fixing it isnt coming! Had the car fixed here at a cost of £300. Sent him invoice but he is ignoring. 10 weeks later I still have no service hostory or logbook. They havent paid me for the work done. ive now involve dtrading standards and consumer direct. My aim: to get them closed down! Everyone who has a problem with this garage should report them to TS and CD. They are bordering illegal.

“Con artists - should be closed down”

RE - Platinum Motorhouse - if you are thinking of buying a car from here, going off my experience and opinion - DONT DO IT. These guys aren't able to deal with after-sale issues.... are nice and friendly when they think you will be spending some money, but disappear into thin air if there is a problem. I bought a Honda Accord for £3000, which is now requiring a new engine after only 6 weeks, an engine fault had caused a complete loss of engine compression, this has been confirmed by an independent mechanic. A replacement engine is the cheapest way to remedy the problem due to the cost of parts and labour to fix the existing one. (Going off 3 independent assessments). Since this occurred I have made multiple (+20) calls to the office to discuss the issue, these calls are met with promises to call back, the call back only happened once course this never happens. Eventually I managed to speak with Faisal, he promised to send their own mechanic, with a date and time agreed, the mechanic did not show up. Since then Platinum Motorhouse have refused to acknowledge there is a problem and I have now not had a car for 4 weeks. I then sent letter of complaint by recorded delivery, asking for a repair, replacement or refund, this was signed for by the company as 'platinum', when I called to discuss a response - they denied all knowledge of receiving it. I was then asked to fax the letter, which I did, but as yet have still not had a response. It looks as though I will need to get the repairs sorted and claim the money back from the trader with the help of trading standards and consumer direct. I wish I had read the reviews on this site before I dealt with this company, as I certainly wouldn't have bought from here.

“Utter rubbish”

written by on 01/11/2011

I bought a C class Merc from these jokers who said it would be mot'd for 12 months. When I heard strange sounds from the suspension and the footbrake didn't work it was promptly returned to them. They had the car for 6 weeks before anything was actually done. After many fob offs from Allen, who could sell sand to the arabs but lies through his teeth, It was sent to a mechanic down the road. After many phone calls and visits to "their" mechanic it was finally sorted. The mechanic they use is a mobile mechanic and seemed a very honest and straight guy. Even he told me that other customers had a lot of problems with them selling as he put it "knackered cars" and messing people around until they got fed up. Even he was messed around when it came to them paying the bills. He also told me this car should not have passed an MOT as the rear brakes were not working at all, and the front suspension arms were so badly worn they could have given at any time! He even showed me the parts he'd replaced. A rubbish company to deal with, a shame the poor mechanic has to deal with idiots like them!

“Never even got to see the car”

★★☆☆☆

written by Oddjones on 25/08/2011

I was looking at a BMW estate. The Auto Trader ad seemed very promising - high spec car, reasonable mileage, lots of warranty, so I called them in the morning to arrange a visit that afternoon. Travelled from Liverpool to see the car. When I arrived, the car was in a garage next door on a ramp, having an injector fitted. The mechanics weren't going to take the car off the ramp for me to look at (not that the first impression left me wanting to touch the car with a barge pole). The salesman then proceeded to take me to his office to discuss terms - valued my trade-in Merc slk at 3000 out of the book and proceeded to offer me £2000 for it. Shame I can't mark these shysters out of 5 for cheek ;-) In short, if you're not local - be wary.

written by kenito234 on 20/07/2011

beware of this company, everyone has complained about it until now, I wish I saw this comments before I dealt with them. I went through a finance company that asked me to deposit money to the company but when the finance company were unable to give me the loan I asked for my money back, for a whole month the company has held on to my money. They were not nice to me, I have resorted to getting a solicitor involved. Please be warned do not deal with them.

“Hi All ”

★★★★☆

written by on 06/05/2011

Hi All
I bought a Mercedes ML 270 from this firm last week. I paid £3200 for a 2000 model with 124,000 miles on the clock.
The car broke down on the M1 on the way back to London. Billy (the owner) drove 50 miles to replace the battery. Unfortunately it broke down again 50 miles later - I had to get the car recovered and stay in a local hotel overnight.
I contacted Billy and Faisal Bashir (the salesman) a day later and told them what happened. They sent me a cash transfer of £300 to my bank account to cover my losses!
When you are buying cars at these prices you should not expect perfection.
If you are fair and reasonable with Billy and Faisal you will get the same back from them - although there will be a lively discussion! ;-)
In my opinion, Platinum should put their prices up and do a little more work on the cars before selling on - it will give them a slightly happier customer that way. I told them that too.

Good luck Faisal and Billy.

Paul

Do not buy from this company.
I had an absolute nightmare buying an Audi from them.
It was advertised as immaculate and when my friend picked it up it was just terrible. I asked for my money back as was given every excuse under the sun.
The owner seems to be a young guy called Billy, so if you deal with them it will all end in tears.
They should not be allowed to trade and shame on Auto trader for continuing to let them advertise.
Be warned

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.... YOU WILL REGRET IT....

I had been looking for an MG ZT Diesel and these had one, described as immaculate condition, the price was ok. booked a test drive with Alan, the following week, drove from Liverpool to Bradford, on arrival I saw the car still blocked in by about 50 cars, so no test drive, Alan forgot. after 4 weeks eventually got the car after hundreds of excuses. supplied with 12 months MOT (passed the day before i collected it) after getting it home, discovered no horn fitted to car!! 1 illegal tyre, intercooler had gone, air con has major leak, front fogs inop. they tried to get me to pay to take it back to them. In fairness Fiezel did say he would repair it, but I have no confidence, plus estimates put it at over 2K to put right. Got finance company involved and trading standards and they are cancelling the agreement. Supplied an unroadworthy car, with invalid MOT. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY YOU WILL REGRET IT

“On Sunday 20.02.11,we i saw a car advertised on their...”

written by on 24/02/2011

On Sunday 20.02.11,we i saw a car advertised on their website and on Autotrader. Their advert and i quote"1 Owner, 1 Company director from New. Full Volvo Service history, Maintained regardless of cost" Upon arriving at the site, our suspicions were first raised as the garage was nothing more than area at the back of a total petrol station, but when spending 4k i accept you are not going to arrive at a gym palace.
Upon seeing the car we asked for the keys to have a good look round. We got the keys, which turned out to be one key, and the car would not start and had to be jump started,, allowing for cold weather and the fact batteries do go flat we let this go without issue. We then contniued to inspect the vehicle which was in an acceptable condition for its mileage,,, firstly as the car was advertised with a FVSH we were surprised to see 3 dash warning lights and service messages displayed on the car, secondly the vehicle was advertised with a Electric Sunroof,it did not have a sunroof at all. We continued with our inspection and drove the car.
After the test drive we spoke to one of the Asian guys and requested we see the service history, which he could not provide at that time, he inisted the vehicle had a FVSH as the vehcile had only been owned by Lombard Fleet Management and that he would supply the service history the following day (monday). Agreeing to this, we decided to reservce the car with £50 subject to them confirming the SH on the vehicle. Monday came, but the information did not, so we decided to investigate the matter. After sepeaking to a Volvo Dealership it transpired the last time the car was serviced at a volvo dealership was march 2007, some 4 years earlier.. we then requested a copy of the logbook.. which turned out to have an additional owner.. So in a nutshell this is a now a 2 previous owner vehicle with a VSH up to 2007, and no sunroof, not quite the 1 company director owner full service history car. we decided not to go ahead with the purchase and requested back the £50. To which the refused and slammed down the phone!, i have now issued proceedings against them. BY FROM THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL

“I just purchased a BMW 7 series from Platinum...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 12/02/2011

I just purchased a BMW 7 series from Platinum Motorhouse which was advertised as being in IMMACULATE CONDITION! In fact the word immaculate was used 5 times to describe this vehicle. I live in London, so I knew there was an element of risk purchasing online from a place as far away as Bradford. However, my experiences in the past of purchasing vehicles online from great distances has been great so I thought nothing of it. This experience, however, has left me absolutely enraged that dealers like this are allowed to continue trading. The office is fronted by a Semi retired native North Yorkshireman, where as in fact the operation is conducted by a bunch of Asian cowboys! Please be aware when dealing with this company!! They lull you into a false sense of security that you are purchasing from a reputable dealer, but upon going there, I noticed several 'red flags' - 1) They changed their mind about picking me up from the station as promised. 2) They lied about the car being valeted and ready to drive away. When I arrived (via taxi) and saw the car, it was no way near in the condition as shown in the pics online. Sure enough it was the same vehicle, but in much worse condition - flat front tyre, filth all over the vehicle, no fuel in tank, broken cigarette lighter (could not plug my SatNav in to drive home); etc, etc.
3) They advertised this car with FSH and with only 119K on the clock. But it had 124K on the clock when I got there!! also they said the books/service records are missing and they need to find it!!!

I took the car for a drive which they seemed reluctant to allow me to do until the very last minute (before close of business). The car drove superbly apart from a few niggling suspension noises which turned out to be rods and bushes. Anyway, I reluctantly completed the deal, and left with the following promises: 1) 30 day mechanical and transmission warranty; 2) delivery of the service books via mail by the following Monday. I am still waiting!!!!!!!

Upon driving back to London I realized I was not doing too well on gas, so I looked at the Consumption figures and it showed 7.4MPG!!!! There was a strong smell of petrol eminating from in and around the fuel tank. I managed to get home (with no heating by the way!!!!!) and called the AA. They advised that the fuel tank is corroded and requires a replacement asap! Do not drive more than 10 miles, and take it straight to a garage. Many garages will not service or repair premium brand vehicles, so I made arrangements to take it down to my local BMW garage for a full diagnostic test.

£2847!!!!! Yes, a bill for just under £3000 to fix what they identified as major problems with this vehicle. Leaking fuel tank, sticking throttle, windscreen washer reservoir leaking, no A/C (thermostat valve stuck open, hence no heat), etc, etc etc. All major safety issues in their and my opinion! So promptly advised Platinum Motorhouse who denied all knowledge of these faults.

The story is much longer than this but to summarize, I am now pursuing them for compensation via Citizens Advice and Small Claims Tribunal.

That's shocking, I cannot believe that dealers like this can continue to trade (and can sleep at night)
One thing though, why did you still buy the car after all these \"red flags\" ?
I would have run a mile....there are plenty of BMW's for sale so it's not as if it's a rare car. I drove 180 miles once to look at a Porsche 928 which turned out not to be as good as advertised. It cost me a day of my time, and fuel, but I still walked away from it without buying.

This review has clearly been submitted by a friend or family member of the owners of this shambles of a company. If you had genuinely bought a car from these cowboys like myself and the other unfortunate people who had not read these reviews prior to purchasing you would not be saying how wonderful they are. Cars with invalid 12 month MOT's, cars with major safety defects, small claims court cases, trading standards involvement, citizen advice involvement, inacurately described cars with FSH and options that are not actually fitted!! *****BE WARNED DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY*****

“PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 21/01/2011

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.

I saw a vehicle advertisd on their website (also on autotrader). I called to enquire about it and spoke to the very friendly Alan. Alan said I could see the car and he would hold onto it (reserve ir for me) they took a credit card deposit on the phone. I was told that if I decided I didn't want the car then the money would be refunded. The card was debited and i told Alan i would come view the car the following day. He then said the car was not ready and had to send it away for MOT and valet.

I gave them a timescale for the car to be ready for me to view and test drive (all the time i was calling them to check the progress, each time alan gave different excuses but kept telling me how much i would love the car). He even told me that i wanted it?? How can anyone decide you will definately want the car even without looking at it??

Anyway I told them I needed to see the proof of the advertised full service history and they gave more excuses such as the last owner still had it and they would get it posted. By thgis time the whole situation was dragging on and i was getting excuse after excuse.

I only had a set timescale to get a car and on deadline day they still didnt have it ready for me to view. I called to inform Alan that i required my deposit refunding as they couldnt get the car ready and he said no problem but he would call me back. Guess what...noi call back. I called again and he said his boss would call me to sort it. Guess what..... no call back. The following day i called and got Billy, he was rude and told me that i had to speak to Alan but he wasnt around. I eventually spoke to Alan later in the day and he said he thought Billy was sorting it. I then got Billy who said as i didnt want the car anymore i had lost my deposit. I informed him that under the distance selling regulations 2000 they were obliged to. He didnt care and refused refund.

TAKE NOTE OF THESE REVIEWS AND MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO STAY WELL CLEAR.

Similar issue to the other reviews really - terrible post sale customer service! The car I purchased had numerous issues inlcuding being described as a death trap by a reputsable garage that I took it to to get sorted as Platinum failed to to so even though they committed to sort it.
Billy, the owner, has a standard modus operandi - when you phone to complain or ask for assistance he tells you he will phone you back in 5 minutes and of course never does!
My advice - buy somewhere else.
