Got married in 2010, and after seeing a gentleman from Capture The Day at a wedding fair, we thought he was a decent guy who seemed like he knew what he was doing... He was good on the day itself too, very much disappeared into the background. We sent him our song choices once we got back from our honeymoon, expecting to maybe wait a few weeks to receive our DVD,as other companies have done for friends of ours who have had their special day filmed. It took a year almost to the day of e-mails, phone calls and eventually, threats to knock on his door, until we received the DVD. He ignored our attempts to contact him and I literally had to tell him that I would be paying him a visit before he said the DVD would be delivered. He was very apologetic, and had mentioned that he had some personal situation which affected his work... we never understood what that meant. The video itself was good, and after a year of waiting it bought back very happy memories, which we can keep forever. Saying that, if I had known how much of a headache it would be to get the product we had paid so much for, there is no way I would choose this company.

8 months after the wedding we finally received the dvd (only 1 copy, then had to chase again for other copies). I have never felt so angry and upset at someone this much in my life. We spent more than we wanted to on a dvd to make sure we got something really good and although it is good it’s really not worth the stress and feeling like you’ll never receive it. There will be other people out there that can do a good job and service, and probably charge less. I wish I had read these reviews before I booked him, I wouldn’t have wasted my energy on him. The amount of family gatherings we had where I was looking forward to showing the dvd and time after time let down. The audacity this person has to treat people like this is unbelievable, and the fact that he has managed to do this to so many other people and still get away with it. As soon as he’s received your money he doesn’t answer his phone to you ever again and to receive a text message back is like drawing blood from a stone. I ended up using Whats App as you can see when somebody has read your message and he still had the cheek to ignore me. He replied every now and then with a new date to expect it, I lost count of how many dates we were meant to get it. If he just kept in touch more often and replied with an actual date he was going to deliver it wouldn’t have been so bad, but it’s that unknown feeling that gets you so upset.

We were give a date of 10 weeks for the finished product. My wife and waited a 2 years and counting for for the finished product. He produced nothing in that time period, we managed to produce a baby!!!! The guy had the cheek to attend a wedding fare to get more business when he hadn't even concluded business with us the client. Over priced under serviced and a truly dreadful communication. I wouldn't recommend anyone hire him. I would recommend that owner get into another business, maybe the government because they take forever to provide a response or produce anything.

I got married in August 2011 and booked Greg after he did a wonderful film for one of my close mates weddings. On the day he was excellent and made everyone feel at ease and to be honest we didnt even notice he was there which is ideal in my opinion. When we got back from our honeymoon we sent him the songs we wanted on the film and let Greg get on with it. I suppose this is where the issues started. His communication skill are woeful, which is where all his problems are really. I dont mind things taking a while and quite frankly i would have waited a year if he had kept me in the loop as to what he is up to and not just ignoring 99% of my calls and emails. We finally got our DVD this weekend and are really happy with it. Whether its worth the huge amount of money i dont know as i have no other videos and costs to compare it. But the main thing is we have our memories on film and we are happy. I dont see the point in people taking legal advice as i fail to see how that will get you your film any quicker. I dont know what to suggest to people out there who are having issues apart from hang in there im sure you will get your film. I have given Capture the day a 2 as although the film is great the pain on having to chase to get it is terrible.

Hired Greg from Capture the Day to video our wedding on 30th May 2011, was paid in full prior to the wedding as requested. The only correspondance we had after the wedding was him requesting what songs we wanted on DVD, since then we have had no contact with him, despite numerous messages and emails. I can't believe this has happened and can't believe he has managed to do this to so many other people and still get away with it. He is a dark cloud over a perfect wedding.

I booked Greg after seeing my Sisters video which was amazing and anticipated mine to be just as good, however after getting married in July 2011 I'm STILL waiting! I have left numerous e-mails and voice messages since September 2011 to see if he even recieved my honeymoon pictures and songs but to date (28th Feb 2012) I'm still waiting for a reply. After reading reviews on here I am now seeking legal advice and have contacted watchdog! Like you all I just want to re-live our special day and see my beautiful 3 year old walking down the isle.

Worst service ever! Got married in June 2010, Paid extra for Honeymoon photos to be added and paid hundreds more for the HD service - got neither. He doesn't reply to emails, nor answer the phone. DVD took 5 months to reach us and when it did it was minus the extras we'd paid for. 18 months on, i still don't have what we paid for. I will NEVER ever recommend this supplier to anyone. Avoid at all costs - doesn't have a problem in cashing your cheques as soon as they arrive but don't expect anything after that.

So it has taken over a year to get the DVD of our wedding BUT it is absolutely fantastic. I know that Greg has clearly gotten behind with the DVDs but he is not a conman, I really believe that if you wait you will one day get the DVD that you have been waiting for and it will be very good! We LOVE the DVD and hope that all still waiting for the DVDs that they have paid for get them soon. Charlotte

We are currently going through the same problems. We have sent numerious emails, letters and left phone messages, he continually ignores us. It is funny how he managed to cash our cheque so quickly before the wedding!!! We got married on 11 June 2011 and although we have not waited as long as some of the poor people on this review site the whole experience is making me feel really ill... it is so stressful and upsetting, for me it has really taken the shine away from the day! We are today starting legal proceedings and I am also going to contact the Brentwood Wedding Show organisers which is where we found him to ensure he isnt allowed to advertise this appauling service any longer! We are also going to contact Watchdog today and if enough of us do the same we might be able to do something to deal with this man!! Feel free to contact me [email protected] (07958 612 917)

Married 24/10/10. Paid in full, no DVD or contact. Looking to proceed with legal action or possibly watchdog. If you are in the same position as us send me an email, we will see if we can get something done about this man. Charliburgess at hotmail.com

We had our wedding on the 14th august 2010 and as of yet (27th august 2011) we still havent received our dvd. We have sent numerous emails and telephone calls to a free phone number no one ever answers we always have to leave messages which has never been reponded to. I cant beleive he can treat people this way i thought we were the only ones he had done this to but obviously not after reading this forum. We called him today threatening legal action if no response i will take this further and contact a solicitor. Even a phone call from him would be something to keep us updated because at the moment he seems like he has done a runner!!! The biggest day of our lives and the most important part was the dvd, we have paid him so much money upfront thinking we would get a professional service and nothing as he only lives in chelmsford we are thinking in going to his house for an explanation!!!. I hope we can hear from him soon, if not maybe we all need to do something to make him take notice. Any one who wants to contact us email [email protected].

We booked capture the day for our wedding on September the 5th 2010 and as yet on August 17th 2011 we still have not received our dvd. He gave us all the big spiel when he first came to see us about how his service speaks for itself blah blah blah and that he doesn't have to offer discounts because he is so good. Well please if you are reading this DO NOT book him and tell anybody you can not to either. My husband and i over the past year have tried time and time again to get in contact with this man, and he just ignores our emails and voicemails. He did get in touch with a one liner stating that he was really ill and he had a massive back log. Once we heard this we backed off a little, but then heard nothing again from him for months and months. We then heard that we would have our dvd by the 4th June! As you can imagine the 4th June came and went and no dvd. My husband then sent another email to which it was completely ignored. Finally last week we sent recorded delivery to his home address a letter telling him we were going to put a CCJ against his name and take him to a small claims court, we filled out the legitimate court template that quotes various acts etc and what do u know!! Yes, he got in touch the next day aplogising profusely and has once again said we will have our dvd by the 24th August. We have since heard he is still marketing himself at various wedding fairs, and he has literally just told my husband today that another reason why it has taken so long is that he has been working on Harry Potter behind the scenes show. This has made me incredibly angry, we have paid out over £1000 to this man, and he has just contiunally not bothered to get our dvd to us even though it was promised to us within 12 weeks, and instead has focused his efforts on other work even though we have paid him upfront! This man is a disgrace to his profession, and i am going to post this reveiw on every wedding website i can possibly find!

This is an update on our previous review to report that we have now finally received our disk from Capture the Day. The quality is excellent, it is well filmed and edited and the final product is nicely presented. The music soundtrack we provided has also been used effectively, providing atmosphere without ever becoming intrusive.
We are over the moon with the final product. It's just a shame that it has taken the threat of legal action and the helpful involvement of Heart FM (at whose wedding fayre the company exhibits) to obtain a result.
We received an extremely apologetic letter from the company and we genuinely believe that personal problems have been the cause of the delays that everyone has experienced. We even received an additional complimentary copy of our disk as a goodwill gesture. If only the company had communicated with us to explain the issues we would have been prepared to wait - it was the feeling that the company had "done a runner" that necessitated the unpleasant actions that had to be taken.
I am in contact with a number of other clients of Capture the Day who have yet to receive their own DVDs but Greg Coyne (the owner) has assured me that he will prioritise completion of all the outstanding work.
I will update further in a few weeks but at present, things are looking a lot more promising.

We still havent received ours even after being promised that we would get it within 6 weeks. Its now be over 2 months now. We have had no option but to get trading standards involved (Consumer Direct).

Hi there, I'm still waiting in anticipation for Capture the Day to get back to me regarding our wedding DVD from our wedding in August 2010!! Yes we are a few weeks away from our 1 year anniversary and have not got a video to remember!
I'd be grateful if you can share any contacts you have at heart or any tips on how to get something out of this man.
I've emailed countless times now and threatened legal action. The last email I received was in February telling me it would be ready in 4 weeks.... welll..... nothing yet!!!
I am extremely annoyed now and don't actually care for personal problems! If I don't do my job, I don't get paid. Same applies, if you are paid to do a job and unable to complete it, you need to fulfil your promise and get the work outsourced! Unacceptable!!

So glad we've found this forum. It's comforting - although depressing - to hear that we are not the only couple to have been conned by this man. At least we have some home videos of our day but it seems unlikely that we will ever get our professional video. Or our money back.
Although the words Greg Coyne, Capture the Day and professional don't really go together.
Let's all descend on 4 Reynolds Court, Great Baddow, Essex and tell him exactly what we think.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

I have just found this site and am interested to see that we are not the only ones experiencing this problem with Capture the Day.
We married in September 2008 and ordered both standard and high definition videos. We eventually received the standard def (which was brilliant) but we have been chasing for months to get the high def version. Again Greg is ignoring all emails and phone calls. We too have had the ill-health excuse and have made full allowance for this, but I understand from a contact that he is marketing actively and indeed attended a recent Heart FM wedding fayre.
I am now considering legal action. It would be great to compare notes with other people who have suffered. I have set up a "disposable" email address (as I don't want my normal email to be inundated!) but if anyone would like to contact me at [email protected] it would be great to hear from you.
Let's see what we can do to get him to come up with the goods.
Thanks
Chris

My wedding was over 6 months ago. I emailed when we returned from honeymoon, and then again in January a few times to enquire about the progress of the DVD. Finally got a response from Greg Coyne at the end of January to say that he had been ill and I could expect delivery by mid March. That is the last I've heard, after numerous emails, phone calls and now letters. I'm absoluetly devastated that we might never receive our DVD, the money doesn't even come in to it. Am now taking the advice of Consumer Direct and will be contacting Watchdog.

I'm so glad I found this website, we had provisionally booked them for our wedding in June 2011. We have left several voice messages for them to come back to us, as we had still not had anything confirmed in writing since booking at the beginning of Feb. After reading all your reviews, we've cancelled. Not prepared to take the risk and luckily for us I managed to cancel the £100 deposit cheque before they cashed it.

I am so glad I have found this site and know that I am not the only one having trouble with these guys. We got married in August 2010 and was told it would take 10 weeks. I started chasing up in October and have not heard back from them, not a peep since our wedding day. I've sent numerous emails and left dozens of phone messages.
I am extremely frustrated and have threatened legal action now.
I paid A LOT of money would really like to be able to watch my wedding video, they are holding my precious memories and I want them back - edited or not!
It is actually cruel to do this to couples - it's the most important day of their lives, when they trust you and pay you good money upfront, the least you could do is open the lines of communication.
Watchdog and Trading Standards here I come.

Hi, did you ever get your DVD?
Written on: 30/05/2011
I still have not received the DVD. After I threatened legal action I got an email apologisng and saying I'd have it in 4 weeks. However, I responded asking how he'd like us to supply our music and never heard back from him. That was March!
I've emailed again pointing out how disappointed I am, and ofcourse have not heard back.
I've reported it to watchdog - but haven't heard back. Any ideas on the best course of legal action that doesn't cost as much as the DVD??

Wedding was in July 2010. We made contact with them in October and was told they had some problems. They did not advise us on any date that we would get our precious wedding video. Made contact again on the 18th January 2011 but still have not heard anything back (Date today is 3/2/11). I know I shouldnt feel like this but all the stress and the worry has really ruined it for me. I am seriously considering waiting another week and asking for my money back. Im so upset by this, me and my husband were really looking forward to our video, now whenever we see family they always ask about the video and I have to explain and then they all look worried, which spoils it for us even more. Cant believe we paid so much money to be treated like this, how long does an email take to type? If you have personal problems you still have to let your clients know what is happening. Its been so long now we will be celebrating our 1st anniversary before we get the video!
Do not use!

Wedding was in June, heard nothing from them after the wedding or honeymoon, chased 3 times and finally got a response in august asking for our song choices and honeymoon pictures and that would be ready in 4 weeks... now 8 weeks on, still no dvd, they don't reply to emails or phonecalls... after chasing was advised that some problems out of their control... would not recommend.

Great! My wedding was in Nov 5th - sent an email after the wedding to say thank you but didnt get a response which i thought was odd but presumed they were busy with Xmas etc. Tried to call a couple of wks ago, left a voicemail and had no response. Call again today and going to voicemail still. Have sent another email but judging by your comments i wont hold my breath for a reply. Really annoyed as was told the DVD would take 6-8 wks and its been 4 months now and have had no contact.

Hardly good customer service and not like they were cheap either.

Really worried now!

we have had no contact since end of November and were last told that he had personal problems but didn't give any date on when we would get our completed copy. I don't understand why they would turn up and do the filming but not send the final version.
Written on: 11/01/2011
As are we. Wedding in October and no contact since. Has anyone had any contact with them?
Written on: 10/01/2011
We are also in the same situation. Got married in August 2010 and still no dvd. They did respond in November saying that they were having problems and that our dvd would be ready by Christmas but we haven't heard anything since.

Out of interest Charlotte, how long did you have to wait?
