Bad Communication, Poor Knowledge, Disorganised, Expensive.

In a competitive market, surprised that a dealership can have sales staff with poor organisational skills, low product knowledge and inability to tell when just quoting a RRP will not suffice. Gave business to similar franchise business who were prepared to do a deal, but more importantly seemed to value custom...not impressed.

You Want To Buy A New Car

Having had reason to deal with this garage before and had a bad experience you would think I would stay well clear , but no lets give them the chance to redeem themselves.

I want to have a look at a brand new Skoda Octavia VRS which I know they have on demo .

Its not on site today ok I've not booked anything so thats ok . "what is the spec you have " Blank look from salesman " is it petrol , diesel" its petrol of course (naturally) "can I have a demo" yes, we'd take you for a spin round the block . Ive not driven DSG before so 15 mins isnt going to be of much use , "do you do extended demos " NO Dont do anything like that .

Thanks for nothing entire episode took 5 minutes . I did have the correct opion before never set foot in the place again

Pre Sale Service

I bought a used Honda civic that had been part exchanged. It was just over 3 years old and had done 45000 miles. I was assured the car had been fully serviced so I trusted it had been, the service book had been stamped I was sure to check this before I left with the car. I have just had the car serviced at my local garage and asked them to investigate poor heater fan performance, upon investigation they found a filthy pollen filter and air filter. I checked these things my self and it would appear that they were in a terrrible state and had not been changed as part of the so called full service.

I regularly receive marketing litterature about cheap servicing at the garage and I think I now know why... it would appear they're not too keen on replacing parts, I am not even convinced that they would have changed the oil!!

I recommend marking service parts before taking your car in so you can be sure thay are replaced.

Something Not Quite Right...

Bought a used car that was a part exchange at the Central Skoda / Seat dealer in Birmingham. Paid a large deposit on a Credit Card and agreed to pay the balance in cash. When we went to collect the car, we were told that we couldn't use a Debit Card as it would 'Cause prolbems'. Good job we weren't buying a new car!

We were asked to go to the nearest cash machine 1.5km's away to withdraw physical cash. Seemed strange at the time but didn't notice until later that the receipt was for the deposit plus £100 only and not the full amount paid. So now the receipt could easily be passed to their accounts showing the lower purchase amount and, as we had been forced to pay in hard cash, there was no electronic record and the extra amount paid could simply disappear.

Also was told that it had passed it's MOT with 'Flying Colours' only to be handed a certificate with 3 advisories on it.

I have purchased a few cars in the last few years and none of those transactions seemed as dodgy as that one. Felt like they were only interested in the money and that they wanted to keep as much of the transaction off the books as they could. Would recommend that anyone thinking of buying anything from them to either be very cautious and check everything or simply go elsewhere.

Bought A 3 Year Old Fabia From This Garage. Id Ask

Bought a 3 year old Fabia from this garage. id asked for it to be given a new mot before i collected it , as i lived about an hour away and as the car was almost due its first mot decided to save time by having it done before hand.I went to collect it and the salesman didnt know if it had been done, i later found that it hadnt been, so they came to collect it, leaving me without a car for the day , even though they left a courtesy with very little petrol in . i estimate their lack of thought in proving me with a mot when asked cost me around £20 for the petrol to take it back.it was supposedly given a 116 point check before i bought it , got it home and found that both the spare wheel and jack were missing then the warranty came and it was for 3 months when the car was advertised at 12 months warranty. more aggro to sort it out. Ive had 4 skodas over the last 20 years , all bought from main dealers. in the past all of the dealers have been very good. the car is spot on, but the service from CENTRAL SKODA was not very good and i wouldnt reccomend them at all.
