I have always had Netgear routers which is what made me go for this one the Netgear DGN2000 ADSL. From the first day I owned this router I had a few small problems which after speaking with the more than unhelpful help desk I managed to resolve by looking online (just needed to restore factory setting and install latest firmware). The router has been working for 12 months ok until last month when it would be connected to the internet and also to my attached devices but there would not be able to use the net, I first spoke with my DSL supplier who confirmed that my router is connected to the net, then I checked my computers which again could see the router. The only way to resolve the issue was to reboot the router by turning off and on again. I again thought I would try the Netgear helpdesk who tried talking me through a few things (whilst chewing on the phone) but still no luck. Once again I turned to the internet to resolve my issues, I found that the router has a history of getting hot and should be stood up, but guess what? This is the only router from Netgear that doesn't come with feet, I managed to find some from my old router which has helped cool it down, but seems to have already damaged the internals. I would advise anyone with the router to stand it up before yours gets damaged, or like me not long after 12 months needs a new router. Not very happy with this at all.
