Having Two Children With Four Years Difference In
Having two children with four years difference in age is not normally a bad thing, but when it comes to taking them out for a cycle around the park this has proven to be a challenging situation.
My son who is now 3 has decided that he no longer wants to be pulled around in the trailer on the back of my bike and that he would like his own, I have tried him on some friends bikes, but he struggles with the pedals and the stabilisers, so I find myself running behind him pushing.
A close friend of my wife's recommended we buy him a "First Bike" these looked great online being made of wood and having no peddles, they seemed ideal, but I could not find any in stock, it would appear their manufacturer has moved to a plastic model which personally I found a little disappointing.
After a little more searching I found the "Strider Bike with no pedals" on www.mad4cycling.co.uk which looked the part and the price was reasonable including free shipping.
We have had the bike for 3 days now and my son loves it, he has no trouble zooming down the hills (And falling off it has to be said) or walking over the bike as we go up hill.
As well as helping him get to grips with the balance aspect of riding (which I assure you he is far from achieving at the moment) he is extremely happy to have "a proper bike" as he calls it. I think this statement comes from the fact it looks like any normal metal bike, but is extremely light. 5 Stars.
