The previous three Epsons have not lasted long, but the quality was good and they weren't too expensive to run. This machine has inferior picture quality, and although the machine looks reasonably well made at a glance, closer inspection shows that it isn't. It frequently doesn't work for no apparent reason. But the ink use, and the cost is so high I'm tempted to throw it away and invest in another make. People remain loyal to a make once they understand how it operates, break that loyalty and they are gone for good. My last Epson.

I have had trouble with my Epson Stylus SX515 since the first change of ink. 1st lot of photos and documents that I printed were ok, not great though and not what I was led to believe about the quality of prints. After changing the ink for the 1st time it has refused to print black even though it says I have a full cartridge in and everything should be good to go. Nozzle clean does nothing, changed ink twice thinking it could possibly be a faulty cartridge but still no black and now no colour either. Piece of rubbish, I was given it as a present and do not have the reciept so I can't get any repair done on warranty either. This is my second Epson and the 1st was rubbish as well. I would not have an Epson ever again and I definitely would not recommend them to anyone. Cannon or HP next time I reckon.

Easy to set up. Eats ink. Fails to recognise genuine carts, won't print with compatibles. Dire support. Buy something else.

We were looking for a compact all in one printer which had good wireless capabilities and the Epson SX515 seemed to fit the bill.
It was very simple to set up and the wireless aspect works really well (saves us having to lug up the 19" laptop to the top floor each time we want to print)
The print speed isn't as fast as some, but for us that isnt an issue. The print quality is fine (we mostly use it for printing word / excel documents and the very occasional photo).
It doesnt have a big touch screen, which some of the new printers seem to have, but I can't remember the last time I needed to interface with the printer without the PC anyway, so not a big issue for me.
All in all its a good printer that does what we want it to. Prices tend to vary from about £70 online to over £100 in store, so its worth shopping around.
