First off, I would rather give Super Mario Sunshine a "8.5" but that isn't an option. Mario Sunshine is similar to Mario 64 in the aspect of gameplay. But besides that, Sunshine is a good game (and I am not saying Mario 64 was bad, oh no! It was awesome!). The Graphics are very polished, and Mario's new partner, "Fludd" (is that how its spelled?) is pretty cool, he can do a few new moves because of Fludd. It is a fair game, and I would say everyone should at least give it a chance.

Super Mario Sunshine is Probably the joint second best game on GameCube (Zelda first, then joint with Metroid Prime). This game has a lot to offer to all ages. The thought of spraying graffiti off walls doesn't sound thrilling but guess what... IT IS!!! This is a must have especially now it is players choice.

This was the first game I had for my Gamecube and my dad and I really enjoyed playing it! As far as I can remember, Ive played on the old SNES the N64 and Gamecube, (so Ive seen a lot of games) and Super Mario Sunshine is one of my favourites (right up there, with Donkey Kong and all of The Legend of Zelda games)! The story line is okay and I liked the way you could interact with people. The islanders for instance: ever tried spraying them with FLUDD? Believe me, they dont like it and they shout at you! Id say, give it a go. Its well worth it and every body loves Mario!

“ Never has a game with Mario's cheeky face stamped...”

★★★★★

written by Rowan. on 30/07/2003

Never has a game with Mario's cheeky face stamped over it been bad and Nintendo not about to start! The latest in the line of mario games is a stunner! Despite the console leap, mario's image has remained intact and the game is undoubtably from the same line as before. The obvious leap is the graphics, pin sharp and utterly believable (if you believe in giant ducks). This time Mario's main line of defence is a hi-tec hose. This at first might seem incredibly strange (I know it did for me) but it doesn't spoil the game in the slightest, it just makes it a bit easier to predict the challenges.
As sound goes, the music will scar you for life, you'll be humming it for ages and the sound effects are typically cartoony. The only voices used are 3 second babbles at the beginning of each paragraph (yes, you'll need your reading glasses) but each character still has a unique 'voice'.
The one thing I find amazing about this game is how interactive it is. For example, if you bounce on a civilian (as you do) they will be shocked and then shout at you. If anything gets wet (which it often does) something usually happens including exploding birds (?)
This is a seriously addictive game, seriously! I wish my bladder was bigger! All this fantastic game fits into just a few blocks on your memory card!
One thing gamers seem to be a bit confused over is this and let me explain it...
...colourful does not mean babyish! Blood isn't everything!
Anyone who can get over this (and is smart enough to have a gamecube) will have a great time for ages.

You just read my bad points! "Im not just picking on the gamecube just for the hell of it"! I just felt that they should of made a better job, it's not just the "Cameras angle's" BUT the "ENEMIES" Mario faces WAIT FOR IT!......."BIG FAT DUCKS"! DUCKS "WHAT"! (WHY DUCKS (nintendo?) No one likes to BEAT DUCKS UP? Do we! Thats like beating your Pet Cat or Dog Up! I know it's just a game but still come on Nintendo you can do better than a Duck to beat up I hope?........How about a nice 2D Mario Game Nintendo I know you have to move on from the 2D Games from the 80's but "mario in 2D Rules"!

What are you talking about!? It was one of the first game made for Gamecube, give them a break! The camera angles were sometimes annoying, but were easy to control! EA games are the games that have terrible camera angles! I think that Mario Sunshine is a pretty good game, but doesn't compare to some others...

This is a must buy for anyone into fun games, whether your a casual or hardcore gamer, you will get a lot of satisfaction from this game. The graphics are flawless, everything is so bright, sharp and colourful. The control you have over Mario is second to none, why is it that only Nintendo can make controlling your character so perfect? The game is split into a series of challenges that start off easy and gradually increase in difficulty the further you get. If you get stuck on one challenge you can move onto another. There's always a number of challenges/levels that are open to you. One massive advantage over it's predecessor, Super Mario 64, is that you'll never forgot where you are in the game if you don't play for a while, because every world is split into several episodes which you can choose from every time you enter a world. The game is still free roaming but it's far more structured than SM64. You control the camera which may annoy some people but it is really easy to do and only occasionly misbehaves. The whole look and feel of the game is ultra polished, with stunning graphics, level designs and that 'one more go' addictiveness. As soon as you switch on the game you know you're getting something worthwhile for your money. The perfect feel good game to put on over the cold Christmas holidays.

“Super Mario Sunshine for the Gamecube, ahhh we have...”

Super Mario Sunshine for the Gamecube, ahhh we have been waiting for this forever (some of us...a lot of us gamers) was it worth it? Of course, I mean - why would it be bad? It's mario the most popular video game mascot ever. In this game you can use a water pump and yoshi. You kinda have two sidekicks your water pump and your old pal, Yoshi. How can you hate him? Ok squirting water is so much fun that's not all you do you can wham bam! That's when you jump and slam on your touche. And it kills some bosses. But this game is so unique I love this game!!! I am so happy I have it!!! it's the best gamecube game. It's cool that Luigi and mario are technical like in Luigi's Mansion who see him using a Vaccuum and a device to talk to that proffesor guy. In mario sunshine he can do all sorts of cool things with his pump he can squirt, hover and fly in the air, speed with water, and a huge water jump. There are really unique patterning levels in this game where you have to jump over things all you'll get a shine!! Happy Gaming!!
