Monte Gordo Portugal

Monte Gordo is a clean purpose built resort with a magnificient sandy beach. The town centre is pedestrianised with numerous restaurants serving a variety of food mainly at very reasonable prices. They have the appearance of cafes rather than any character. There are a couple of small english low keys bars but if it is night life you are looking for then it is not for you. The resort is compact and very flat making walking easy. It is also a good centre for exploring with Spain only 3 miles away. You can get the local bus to the border town of San Antonio Vilareal the get the horly ferry to the spanish town of Aymonte. Seville is about 2 hours away and is best reached by an excursion. It is also worth taking the local bus to Tavira which is a quaint old Portugese town. if you read the information about the resort it states it has a train station. It is actually located outside the resort and is a good 40 minute walk away.
