The Prince of Wales pub in Putney is my new local - and I love it. It's got a classic British pub feel combined with a gastro-pub restaurant and a little terrace out the front.
There is a good range of booze, friendly service from the relaxed but efficient staff and the food is knock-out. The triple cooked chips are the best chips I've tasted in London - you just have to try them! The huge homemade scotch egges look awesome on display on the bar (if I wasn't veggie I'd definitely tuck in). I've also eaten lunch in the restaurant with all three of us throughly enjoying our lunch.
If there are any negatives the options for veggies are very limited - one starter and one main. It would be great if they could add a veggie roast on Sunday's and maybe a veggie salad as well as the veggie main option. The prices seem a little high too which makes eating at the Prince of Wales a bit of a treat rather than a regular occurence.
Overall the Prince of Wales is excellent and I throughly recommend it to anyone who lives in Putney area and what's a proper pub with great food and friendly local staff.
