We have been dealing with Tuffnells for a few years and we very rarely have had a problem. The driver always polite and very talkative. Great company.

I have used Tuffnells since May 2015 to ship our bikes - huge (6 foot long) heavy (34 Kg) parcels that need good logistics. Overall the service has been absolutely excellent. Over the past 30 years I have used them all - Interlink, TNT, Parcelforce, DPD and so on. They have all caused problems at one time or another. In 8 months with Tuffnells we have had two lots of damage, so minor we didn't bother to complain, and maybe 3 or 4 times when parcels didn't get there the next day (although Tuffnells bent over backwards to then get them there on an alternative day and time to suit the customer). I think that like many couriers agency drivers are sometimes used, possibly for isolated areas - and the service could be improved (and I think will be). We also have to put up with the fact that we cannot give our customers tracking numbers or times - but then what we send out is out of the ordinary and we get very good feedback from our customers. I think before you start complaining you need to appreciate how difficult logistics in the UK are. Van loads can vary from day to day and traffic now is a nightmare as this country gets more and more clogged up. It only needs one accident for there to be a delay of say 5 or 6 hours and yet you all start jumping up and down. Some of you also expect the earth - ' can you send the parcel somewhere else (10 miles down the road), can you deliver my wardrobe to the 5th floor (no stairs), can you call me 20 minutes before you get here so I can go and get my shopping, can you leave it on the doorstep but oh, if it gets stolen I will have a go at you'. !!! Maybe you should try and do the drivers job for a day - you might mellow a bit afterwards. Problems happen. Stay calm, be polite to whoever you get on the phone and state clearly what you want done about the situation - you will get better results!

i think this the best transport company in the UK, i have a daily collection service from them, collecting anywhere between 50 and 100 items a week and all delivered next day all over the country

I have used the vast majority of couriers over the last few years for big and bulky items. Some couriers are shocking, some are ok most of the time and one or 2 have been pretty decent. Have to say Tuffnels are absolutely amazing - customer service is outstanding, only 1 of all my consignments have been delivered a day late, tracking system is kept up to date and I havent had a single damage. Fair play to these guys compared to anyone else they are head and shoulders above.

I am a driver for Tuffnells & the people that i deliver to on a regular basis tell me that we are by far the best courier company out of all the company's that also deliver to them , I think the problems people have with the drivers is misunderstood as we are expected to deliver a large amount of parcels in city centers with high volume of traffic , we do our best to keep every body happy but the odds are against us , some would say put less on the lorry to make the service more reliable , then your parcel delivery is not free or cheap to deliver any more , Im talking as a new driver of tuffnells only 6 months in and happy in my work ,home delivery is on the increase thanks to the internet but so is traffic. thank you for reading anonymous from Bristol

I received a delivery from Tuffnells today, I called the transport office at 7am and was dealt with by a human!!! I wanted an approx time of delivery around the school run, the lady whom I spoke to was called Clair, she told me that they were still loading vehicles, she took my contact details and said she would call me back with a time slot..... and she did. The driver called me as well! My fence panels were delivered with no issues at all!

I sent a fairly expensive control box to Derbyshire by another carrier. It arrived safely on time. I then started to read reviews about my courier and got thoroughly worried about who would bring my control box back to me. But I needn't have worried as it was quickly repaired/replaced by Truma. They then arranged collection on the 25th. June and it was delivered safe and sound the next morning. So well done City Link, Truma Caravan Movers and Tuffnells transport. Takes a little while to write a positive review but I hope it balances out some of the stories from the less fortunate customers. I don't feel smug. Just relieved that I won't have to struggle with the caravan on my front gravel drive.

I was a driver for this shat hole firm too.
Everyday I had stupendously heavy stuff to lift and deliver on my own, on a lorry that has no tail-lift (18 ton prime mover). Anything up to 60 drops, climbing up and down with no steps flucks your legs up.
The Managers are on good money, get bonuses every quarter, and put every bit of pressure on the drivers and porters just so they can get a bigger bonus. It's all about their bonus. There's no Manager in "TEAM" here.
Continuously phoning you, cab phone or your personal mobile- they don't give a fluck whether you're driving or not. Often getting told to "put it on break" while loading at collections by the traffic manager.
The firm is so stupid that they have even made a driver a hero in the latest newsletter, by telling anyone who wants to read it, how great he is for working through his break!!! VOSA will chuckle when they read that.
Add to this cleverness, the recent bonus scheme gave staff who had been with TPE for 2 years £250 and staff who had been there 5 years £500. Now, by my maths that means they value people who have been with them 2 years higher than people who have shown commitment and served 5 years. Served being the right word!. So, 2 years sentence gets you £125 per year whereas 5 years sentence gets you £100 per year! Idiotic beyond comparison.
Oh, lets not forget, Tuffnells has been paying it's drivers a basic wage for years. This basic is topped up with performance bonuses to give them leverage to pay you less when you don't (can't possibly!) achieve everything. Unfortunatley for Tuffnells, this has meant they have paid LESS than the MINIMUM WAGE to the Drivers for a long time (as most drivers do between 55-60hours per week). The Taxman has cottoned onto all this and now Tuffnells is in the process of paying it's drivers all the money it owes them as it has been told to by the Taxman. Lolololololololol. All because they are greedy chunts, no more no less. The drivers & porters are thought of, and treated like, skum by all Managers.
The whole business is run by a greedy man and that is prevalent from top to bottom.
Do NOT work for and definately do not use!!!

Never a more true word wrote I drive for tuffnells and its hell everyday often going out with 70 drops in a 7.5tone . drivers are paid the min wage and have to work long hours for it .drivers at our depo have lost there bouns for not going back out when they have done a ten hour day or not go to driver meeting on a Saturday morning in there own time. If health and safety seen are depo they would close it down and if people seen how there parcels where treated they would never use them again, Do NOT work for and definately do not use.
