The Wine Society's Lascar Cabernet Sauvignon

My own personal journey to what I now recognise as the unusually smooth elegance of this particlar Cabernet Sauvignon - and I'm now 89 - began 10 years ago. The Cardiac Consultant who then was responsible for the fitting of the artificial heart valve that's still saving my life subsequently ended every appointment with "Don't forget, half a bottle of red wine (preferably a Cabernet Sauvignon and from Chile) a day". I as invariably replied: "I can't manage half a bottle", only to be told: "Try harder!".

I can manage no more than 2 glasses each evening. but for this the Lascar is ideal. Where so many others are often rather harshly heavy, this Cabernet Sauvignon is remarkably smooth and richly-rounded. It's almost a reason for wondering about the 100th birthday ! William H Spray
