This is the first time I've eaten at The Larder on Goosegate and I have to say it's one of the best meals I've had in ages. It's housed in the old Boots building and has floor to ceiling windows which give you a great view out onto the street. I had Mussels to start which were plump and fresh while my girlfriend had wild mushrooms on toast with a (perfectly) poached duck egg.
For mains we both opted for skirt steak (they have a special steak menu) which had bags of flavour (nicely hung) and isn't a cut you would usually find on your average restaurant menu.
We managed to find room to share a pudding, a very indulgent dark chocolate and baileys parfait.
The atmosphere was calm without being too formal and the service was attentive without being intrusive.
I'd highly recommend The Larder to anyone whether it's a special meal or you just fancy popping out for some really nice food!
