Clumber Park Hotel, Nottingamshire

We decided to eat at the Clumber Park Hotel on Christmas Day 2009. Adult £40 per head, child £20 - this was for a 3 course Christmas Dinner which had to be "pre decided" before the day!!!?? We were in the Bar Restaurant which was large and roomy. It was let down TERRIBLY by staff that were either too young to care what service they gave or they were still recovering from Christmas Eve Drink?? Our waiter was nice enough - be brought one wrong starter(even though we ordered these in October!!!) and no bread to accompany my daughters soup. Dinner itself was a Carvery - never again...inadequate staffing, no experience of dealing with the public, food was only palatable - you had to actually ask for another slice of meat!!! All vegetables were like bullets - hardly edible at all. For the cost, it was appalling....we did complain and received a free round of drinks. DON'T eat here unless you want poor service, bad food AND want to pay heftily for it.
