Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi3560 T6600 Os:
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi3560 T6600
OS: Running Windows 7 Home Premium, very quick start-up compared to Vista.
Software: Installed additional software I need myself (from download.com/CNet.com) with no problems.
Interface Ports: Handy to have USB ports on both sides, haven't used other ports yet but they're mostly there (no Firewire, but I'd expect USB 2.0 to be sufficient for everyday use, and eSATA for faster data transfer). HDMI port should be very handy should I ever need to take and watch videos on HDMI enabled displays/TVs/projectors.
Games: Tried and tested Left4Dead 2 to run perfectly with 2x Anti-Aliasing and all other settings on high; Guild Wars with everything set on high; Street Fighter IV runs very slowly with AA on the highest setting, but once I switched AA off it ran very smoothly, haven't tried any gamepads yet though.
Heat: Runs pretty warm on the underside so can't have it on my lap for for extended periods of time, there are air vents on the left-rear, left side towards the back and left side underneathe towards the back.
Noise: Runs quietly in a normal sized living room with several other computers running and TV.
Special Buttons: There are no special buttons. Although there is a soft hotkey combo as a WLAN/Bluetooth on/off switch (brings up 4x check boxes, 1 for each position) for times when you want the machine to be isolated, it would have been nice to have a phsical one. Same goes for screen on/off button, sound mute/unmute button or any sort of phsical volume adjustment.
Overall: I only bought the T6600 version because the T4300 version was unavailable, but I am so glad I did. Even though the procesor and RAM are still the bottlenecks according to Windows Performance Index, I'm not sure if the T4300 would have kept up as well with the Nvidia Geforce GT 240M 1GB 3D graphics when playing games, so it may have been a waste to have such a good 3D graphics in the first place.
I am very pleased with the system overall, and will certainly recommend it to friends and family who are fairly tech savvy due to the lack of special buttons.
