Love this pub, tucked away by the park. Nice selection of well kept ales, food is superb and lovely staff. I just cant stay away

A great walkers' pub, perhaps, being right in the middle of Windsor Great Park, but very disappointing on the food front. A starter of mushrooms in a stilton and brandy sauce tasted neither of stilton, nor brandy. When we complained we were told that other customers had said it was too strong! Why not call it mushrooms in cream sauce, then? The skin of my slow roasted pork belly was soggy, not crisp, so I sent it back, only for it to return solid and equally unedible! It was served with creamed Savoy cabbage, but there was little of that, and more vegetables cost extra.
The place had a lot of local game on the menu, so you'd think it could get that right, but one friend's partridge was over-cooked and dry.
A promising and not cheap menu that completely failed to deliver.
