(June 2022) Ordered the cloud 9 touch straightener direct from Cloudnine which you can change the temperature by touch but instead received an old model that you cannot change the temperature with touch, I suspect this is an old returned model because the instructions was missing as required by the electrical equipment regulations, the online instructions do not match what was received.

Cloud Nine Standard Hair Straighetener is best and quality is excellent. I am using it since years and super happy with product. Weight is light. Price is affordable. Recommended to friends.

I've had a cheaper pair last 5 years, cloud 9 not even 18 months and have the annoying beeping sound and not heating, very disappointing.

Awful, awful customer service. Had two pairs in less than two years as both started with the dreaded continuous beep. They replaced the first pair but have now said that replacement pairs do not have a warranty and I would have to give them more money. ABSOLUTE JOKE!!! WASTE OF MONEY!!

I paid about £100 for my straighteners and they only lasted 18 months before developing beeping noise. I contacted c9 customer service to be told that I can now buy a new ones with a discount. Laughable!!! Back to GHDs. There are so many complains about their irons that we should all sign some kind of petition for the product recall! If I only had time for it...

My hair straighteners lasted on average 11 hours so a very expensive £11 an hour hair straightner. Dont buy as they dont last and the company dont give a stuff!!!!!! I will take this to the consumer ombudsman as i hate to see hard working people ripped of by big greedy companies!!!! See you soon Cloud Nine!..................

Bought Cloud 9 straighteners. Paid £129. Had them almost a year. Now I have experienced what most of the reviewers have experienced...annoying beeping and the plates not heating. Phoned Cloud 9 Customer Services. Got the usual Customer Service "prattle". When asked what she would do in my position the Customer Service Advisor said she would tie her hair back. Hardly the sort of response you would expect from a reputable hair-care company. Sadly, I feel that the Cloud 9 Customer Service is as helpful and effective as its straighteners!

This sounds like the answer I would expect them to give as their straightners are shocking!!! I had a pair and they are no better than a ten pound pair from argos but my new ten pound pair actually work. What a total waste of money cloud9 are

Really poor product. First pair lasted 5 months, second pair managed 9 months before developing the same fault. I'm not even a heavy user - many days they're often just used on my fringe or to add some curls. Really poor service when I complained as well - "we can't get them to you on a Saturday as it would cost too much". Will not be buying ever again.

Purchased standard irons at a cost of £129 lasted 8 months, contacted Cloud Nine who replace them, replacements only lasted 7 months. Contacted Cloud Nine again who said as they were unable to locate registration details I would have to pay £30 repay fee, refused as not convinced they would last so purchased GHDs instead

Bought as a Christmas present not even lasted 5 months fuged why they cant be arsed to make them from good quality components rather than cheap ones that dont last and make the product crudy. Reli good while they did work tbh ghds arent much better

I purchased the C9 touch a mere 8 months ago and it has already shat itself. It no longer heats up and just constantly beeps my poor mother in law thought she had broken it on me even though she had done nothing unusual to use it, after she told me what it was doing I jumped right to Google and discovered hundreds of other people having the same problem. If I had looked into the reviews before I bought it I never would have wasted my money, I'm so disappointed. While it was working it was the best thing that had ever happened to my thick, fluffy hair. I now know to read multiple reviews before I make a purchase and from now on will be sticking to ghd straighteners. It's totally disgusting that these "faulty straighteners" seem to be designed to break to make the company more money as if the initial straightener isn't expensive enough. Ruined my day!

Mine died within a month. I contacted c9 customer services in Manchester and they replaced my pair with a set of dearer original irons completely free. They also sent me a prepaid package to return the faulty ones. Bad touch irons but good customer service. The original ones so far are okay, but I've only been using these for around 2 weeks so time will tell. If you haven't already report it to see if they'll replace them? Karolyn.

I would say thousands of people are very unhappy with these straightners
written by Ward319 on 21/01/2015
These straigtners were good, always straightned my hair and did not damage my hair like some users have said, however this morning they started beeping and would not not heat up like so many people have said before me. Would not recommend this product as this is clearly a manufacturers fault which is either due to poor manufacturer design or a ploy to make money from the consumer by charging to fix the fault for £30 or offering to replace the product for a reduced price of £72 including vat. The fact the company has offered to replace the hair straighteners for a new unboxed pair for £72 as opposed to the £129 I paid for them disgusts me, this company is making £50 profit at least for selling a product that will not last.

I have been using GHD since I can remember and when they finally gave up on me after 5 years I decided to try Cloud 9's. I am naturally black haired and went blonde about 3 years ago, so obviously my hair is quite brittle. It was slowly starting to get healthier until I switched to Cloud 9's! My hair constantly felt dry and never straightened properly on the first attempt after drying. I also had to keep going over it during the day if I had time. My side bits practically broke off and became so short! I thought it was because I had them too hot, but I had them on the normal setting. I then tried turning it down, but I might as well have been straightening it with a ruler. Have recently just got rid or them and got a new pair of GHD's and I have already noticed the difference within a week! My hair straightens perfectly on the first time, feels super silky and no hair breaks off. Don't waste your money on these, awful.

These straighteners dry your hair our and break it do not buy ! I would not recommend them and the price for them is shocking

Hairdresser had these so I thought I'd treat myself. When they worked they were great but after about a month they stopped working - same fault as others have mentioned, the continuous bleeping and no heat. I'm currently trying to get a replacement set or a refund but not having much luck! Do not buy these.

I was very happy when first bought them. Previously used GHDs and was recomendeted those by my hairdresser. Unfortunetally start beeping and stop heating up only three months after I purchased them. I did not register my irons on line within two weeks so basicly wasted money. Back to good old GHDs.

For those that swear by the GHD that has no heat setting and dont mind damaging your hair thats fine. I owned 3 of them my first one that was delivered did not even heat. My oldest GHD the leopard design as soon run it through you hair smoke appears the only product im using is leave in spray it drys my THINK, CURLY BLEACHED HAIR SO BAD that the ends are always crisp. I am now converted the Cloud Nine gives you a such a poker straight finish you control the heat setting and my hair is dead straight after week. Your hair is shiny and locks in moisture which is important for my type hair that is foiled every few months. And also a big difference it is so light so makes for easy glide through your hair.

Mine lasted about 18 months before having the exact same issue as below (beeping continuously). Very disappointing.

I've had these straighteners for 2 years! Surprise surprise as soon as the warranty runs out they brake! And by the sounds of it it's a very common fault within the straighteners, very disappointed and will be telling everyone to save their money and buy ghds, shame on you for selling such a rubbish product
written by kelmar28 on 24/09/2013
I used to have GHD's which lasted 5 years and were brilliant. My hair dresser recommended Cloud Nine I have had them for 18 months and the green automatic off switch keeps beeping and they no longer heat up. They are going in the rubbish they cost 350.00 NZ. Don't by them I am going back to GHD's!

I've had 3 pairs in less than 2 years of these and I've been told I'm simply unlucky.. I'm currently on holiday and my 3rd pair have broke on me! Now waiting for my 4th pair! Absolute joke!
