“XC 60 PURCHASE 2014 !!! I bought two !!!”

Written on: 16/12/2014 by Addisyn217 (1 review written)

After several weeks of trailing auto trader for the right car, with no luck, we decided to take a trip to Ravenscroft. It opened our eyes to the full range they had available. We dealt with an adviser who explained the range to us in detail. Although we had not intended to purchase on the day, the sales pitch/banter was very relaxed with no pressure. We did try to haggle over the price which in fairness was lower than market value at the time. He explained that they check there prices… Read Full Review

“Extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with”

Written on: 19/11/2014 by 987654312 (1 review written)

In returning to view their xc60's for the third time and second time to test drive, we had short listed one of Ravenscroft Volvo's as a potential to buy and sought out some customer reviews. In doing some last minute research I was surprised to find a number of negative reviews in this review centre, as our experience of two of the staff has been really positive. The pricing policy of discounting vehicles if they didn't sell rather than haggling was explained, as was the £199 administration… Read Full Review

“No frills sales!”

Written on: 16/09/2013 by Donnathomson (1 review written)

To be honest after reading some of the reviews I was slightly reticent about going to Ravenscroft volvo. However after speaking to one of the guys on the phone I felt more reassured. We purchased a Volvo XC 90 which we saw on Autotrader and were happy with the service. It's not at all pushy sales and if you go realising that there cars are fixed price and there is an administration fee I don't think you will be disappointed. We found them to be honest and straightforward- as I say no frills or… Read Full Review

“No chance i would ever go back”

Written on: 19/08/2013 by AL204384 (1 review written)

We purchased a Ford S-Max from Ravenscroft from the owner. On taking delivery there was only one key, a lack of manuals and a missing boot cover. Within two weeks we also had to replace a dead battery and discovered the air conditioning wasn't working so I don't trust their servicing. The owner refused to talk to us and therefore we dealt with another person feeling that we were a part of a lousy good cop/bad cop routine. The missing manuals and boot cover eventually came from another… Read Full Review

“Terrible dealer”

Written on: 29/06/2013

Terrible dealer, worst we have ever seen. I totally agree with some o f the other reviewers here when they say the people there were extremely rude. Located at a shady spot and you have to walk to another secluded spot to see the other stock that gets advertised on Autotrader etc. No details of vehicles, when you ask about details and cost, I was rudely questioned "Why have you come here if you do not like the vehicle and price on internet" Shady and slippery dealer with costs same as volvo… Read Full Review

“Trustworthy and good value”

Written on: 22/06/2013 by brayf (1 review written)

I bought an XC90 from Ravenscroft at the start of May. The salesman I dealt with didn't try to pressure the sale, just offered open and honest advice over the differing specs which I appreciated and then encouraged me to test drive to make my own mind up. That's not to say he wasn't attentive he was. There was plenty of choice and all the vehicles were competitively priced compared with the market. The purchase itself was faultless, and the car was ready as arranged. They offered drive away… Read Full Review

“Efficient, friendly and no sales games”

Written on: 10/06/2013 by Magill (1 review written)

We purchased a Volvo XC90 from the team at Ravenscroft. What I liked about it was there was no need to bargain as the price was aligned to the market and we were told from the outset "the prices are per the listings". Andy was helpful and friendly and when we had a very minor issue after the purchase and he sorted it no questions asked under the warranty. If you looking for the sales schmoozing, latte on arrival and the chance to barter on the price Ravenscroft may not be for you - but if you… Read Full Review

“Good cars reasonably priced but need to be. Watch out...”

Written on: 02/01/2013

Good cars reasonably priced but need to be. Watch out for missing spare (2nd)key (essential and very expensive to buy)Offered 2nd hand one at a price but original mysteriously reappeared after doing some research ie I contacted previous owner for info; check original spec. and make sure everything that should be in the car is - our floor mats were missing which we were told had been removed by valet company because of wear and tear (from an otherwise immaculate car??) Again, expensive but… Read Full Review

“Used car ”

Written on: 06/11/2012 by Joanne15 (1 review written)

Do not buy a car from this uninterested salesman! He couldn't really get rid of us quickly enough after he wouldn't offer even a hint of discount even though we'd driven 120 miles to get there. It was a nice car, and the right car, but no real personal skills, how this guy has made a living selling cars for 20 years I don't know. Not even road tax, an extra £200 to pay for the warranty which we didn't want. Not even that is included in the sale price. Really I have nothing good to say about… Read Full Review

Happyfarnham's Response to Joanne15's Review

Written on: 28/12/2012

The above review is rubbish. I bought my car from this company in June 2012, and the service was 100%. They are honest, polite and could not do enough to help me. I travelled to Fleet by train to collect my car from them, and they even sent a car out to collect me from the station, now how much better could that service be. Why should they lower the price. Do you go into other shops and ask for discounts. I could not fault Keith's service and attention to his customers.

“Pros and Cons of buying from Ravenscroft Volvo”

Written on: 29/05/2012 by Happytalk (1 review written)

My honest view of the pros and cons of buying from Ravenscroft Volvo Motors. The pros are, I was offered good customer care, and the Volvo S40 I purchased from them last week is in the most amazing condition, and has clearly been looked after. I found Ravenscroft Motors on eBay, as I had been looking down the listings for a Volvo S40. There certainly was a lot of choice, but I particularly looked for a dealer, as I didn't want to enter into a private sale. I read the listing by Ravenscroft… Read Full Review

“A really smooth purchase of a well presented Volvo. ”

Written on: 26/03/2012 by bourke646 (2 reviews written)

We spotted a Volvo we liked on the Ravenscroft website. After a quick phone call the call, car was held with a £100 deposit. On arrival at Ravenscroft the car was presented immaculately and we were met by Rob the salesman who showed us round. There is a good long test drive which you can do, covering bumpy roads, dual carriage way and twists and turns which gave a great impression. The purchase was smooth, with a reasonable 6 month warranty (which is extendable) and had a very easy payment… Read Full Review

“OLD CHAP, LOOKED AFTER BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS”

Written on: 11/02/2012 by DennisCornish (1 review written)

I was recomended Ravenscroft Volvo by my neighbour who knew I was looking for a Volvo V70. My son helped me look on the internet at various dealers but they were all far more expensive for a similar age and mileage car. I arrived at Ravenscroft and was met by Rob who from the start was very approachable, informative and friendly. They had a wide selection of vehicles for me to look at and I was given the keys and allowed to look around and test drive alone. The test drive took about 20 minutes… Read Full Review

“Great service, good value and excellant after sales.”

Written on: 11/02/2012 by PaulNewForest (1 review written)

I purchased a Volvo V70 R design from Ravenscroft September last year, I had been looking for this model for some time and Ravenscroft had one available. Their pricing was very realistic and fair, I did not wish to haggle but knew the deal was a good one. I was able to take the car for an extended test drive and all was well. They gave me a decent price on my part ex and after the car was serviced and prepared we collected it. The car is fantastic, a 59 plate with 35k on the clock. We did have… Read Full Review

I bought a Volvo XC90 from Ravenscroft Volvo in July 2011 after much research, I was a little weary to buy from an independant rather than a main dealer but im so pleased i did as it saved me alot of money. The main reason i held back was the warranty as id always been told you cant beat a main dealer warranty, but after the very helpful sales guy at Ravenscroft had explained the warranty options that they offer are as good as if not slightly better than main dealer warranty i went ahead and… Read Full Review

“Excellent Service”

Written on: 28/01/2012 by heidinimenko (1 review written)

Having just bought a volvo v70 estate from Ravenscroft Volvo I would have no hesitation in recommending them to future purchasers. The presentation at their dealership is second to none - the cars are all immaculate and lined up perfectly spaced on the forecourt. The staff were more than helpful, without being 'pushy' and we felt that we were under no pressure to purchase a vehicle. The car we chose is fantastic - and worth every penny. Far better than the dealers description. I have… Read Full Review

“Don't deliver on promises”

Written on: 26/01/2012

We bought a used Volvo from Ravenscroft in 2011. They do not shift on their prices, and we were happy with the car and value, with what was stated in the sales details. However, the mileage was understated by 2,000 miles, which would have meant the price should have been lower. The full service history promised with the car never materialised. We were told initially they would send it on to us, then after calls to follow up, were told there is no service history book, just a print-out of… Read Full Review

Ravenscroftvolvo's Comment

Dear anonymous customer in Chichester
It is with the upmost concern that you have posted details of a Volvo purchased from Ravenscroft Volvo without any legal documents being supplied, ie V5 and relevant service history. Ravenscroft Volvo is very concerned that you have been driving a vehicle, as you have stated, for 4 months without it being registered to you and, obviously, untaxed? I would very much appreciate it, anonymous Chichester, if you could contact Ravenscroft Volvo as soon as possible on 01256 766628 to discuss and resolve these worrying concerns.
Ravenscroft Volvo is obligated to inform DVLA of any change of ownership, which is done at point of sale, which then results in their issuing a new V5 with the new owner details??
Boot trays. Ravenscroft Volvo apologises for this long period of time to supply you with this, but unfortunately, due to the present climate, our previous supplier is no longer available. Dear anonymous Chichester, could you please again contact us if you have paid for a boot tray as we would obviously offer a full refund, or as now a new supplier has been found a boot tray.

Ravenscroftvolvo's Comment

Written on: 27/01/2012

Ravenscroft Volvo requires a test drive of all part exchanges, we would perfer to test drive all part exchanges at point of deposit, however in certain circumstances i.e phone deposits or on a busy weekend this is not always poss, if on inspection at point of test drive a fault is discovered we would always ask for the car to be inspected at our workshops on the next avaliable day to verify any concern. Regarding the above part exchange and on older 4x4 cars, it was clear that there was a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle on inspection. It was at this point we said to the customer it could be a wheel bearing at £80 or worse case a rear diff that could be a £1000, we requested our workshops to inspect to verify or the customer to have the vehicle privatley inspected with a report drawn up so we could offer the full part exchange figure that had been quoted. Some times high mliage older cars can often show signs of fault and the price of each car would need to adjusted or the vehicle rectified to gain the full part exchange value.

Ravenscroft Volvo accepts that responsibility for this total lack of communication between staff. The salesman that was involved with the deposit is now no longer employed by Ravenscroft Volvo. However we will take on board the criticism and look to rectify any future mistakes.
