Apocalypse Now Redux

A fantastic film about the journey into the heart of darkness!

I'm giving this 4 out of 5 as its Apocalypse Now, probably THE best war movie ever made. If it were the original version I was reviewing, it would definitely get 5/5

However, having watched the original version many times and the Redux version once, I do think the Redux version is largely irrelevant.

Basically, the Redux version is a longer version of an already extraordinarily long film. They've added back sections of the film which didnt make the original cut.

The problem with the Redux version is that you can absolutely see why the sections didnt make the cut! There's a whole section which is cut from the original movie which is, frankly, utterly irrelevant to the plot and just a 10-15minute distraction that you can do without.

There's a couple of sections / short bits which are good, but not necessary. Overall, utterly fantastic film, but absolutely no need to add the extra 20 or so minutes to it. Watch the original though - stunning film.
