As A Cafe Serving Afternoon Tea, The Lobster Pot I

As a cafe serving afternoon tea, the Lobster Pot is fine, but as a restaurant it is poor. We had Sunday lunch there and it was awful - rancid apple sauce, pre-packed pork slices, instant gravy, frozen carrots - just rubbish, and not cheap at £8.95 for 'ping' food. I'd have paid a fiver and still been disappointed.

The rest of the menu is microwaved and deep-fried objects. Says it all, really...

Sounds as though the comment is written by the proprietor.

I am rather upset to read these negative comments as I have never had any reason to complain!

The staff and service have always been extremely efficient, the place is kept exceptionally clean and well maintained and the food has always been delicious - freshly prepared and well cooked!

I do not think that it is fair to make statements or judgements without knowing some facts, you may not have enjoyed your roast dinner and I cannot obviously argue that you may have had a bad experience, however to state that all the food was frozen or pre-packed or instant is a very unfair remark.

I know for a fact that the staff start work extremely early every Sunday morning to help prepare for the Sunday Roasts, peeling FRESH carrots and preparing the gravy made with the freshly cooked meat juices.

They also make delicous fresh scones on the premises daily and also serve homemade shortcrust pastry with their gooseberry pie. Their menu also offers fresh crab which is purchased and prepared locally, as well as delicious ham off the bone which they buy from a local butcher.

Their menu offers freshly made sandwiches, ploughmans and salads as well as 'some' microwaved and deep fried items.

To state that they only serve deep fried & microwaved food is very unfair!

If you have read negative review, my only advice would be to see for yourselves if you think the review is fair?
