“Please don't use hastings. Write off nightmare!”

My partners car was crashed into whilst parked up by a stolen car, obviously not her fault and she's unharmed. We rang hastings to be told that after the viewing the pictures we sent them it was a write off and we wouldnt get a courtesy car, so When you need a courtesy car most they deprive you of one. “''Renewal is NOT in line with competition watchdog''”

My expectations for a fair renewal were/are quietly confident. Why? I now have '5 years NC' from '4 years NC' and SP30 now over five years. However, my monthly renewal figure more than doubled from 42.00 to 93.00 pounds! I'm 42. No car modifications. No accidents or endorsements. “Unorganised chaos ”

Did a online quote for my partners insurance I work in the industry myself so naturally I didnthe usual things checked excess,benefits etc called up to pay was told I can't have my online rate as the price has changed they work off real time rates that change every second. “Hidden charges”

Hastings look to add hidden charges for everything. If you want to talk to an advisor to buy your insurance then there's a charge. Want your documents then there's a charge. If you don't pay the extras to speak to someone then they will look to clarify a point on your insurance and charge you £25 for this. Either way they will add extras to your premium so go with other companies who are slightly more expensive but state all there fees first. … Read Full Review

“rip off when you ring them”

A well known comparison website instructed me to ring them to complete insurance...took through all details again...had provided make.model.engine etc of car on webste then was told insurance quote gone up nearly £600...my phone has been charged £6 for this privilege...after reading reviews glad I didn't take insurance.. “awful!”

awful! Charged me £140 without telling me, and charnged me an extra £25 for taking £140 out of my bank account without notice. Awful company will be paying £100 more next insurance renewal to change company. The reason hastings give cheap quotes is because they rip you off when you need to alter things / have not declared things e.g. having a 10 hours a week part time job so they charged me £140 even though i dont drive to work.... “Absolutely disgusting”

Bought policy in October last year had nothing but trouble since!!! Started off sent me an email saying I was being charged an additional premium for an undisclosed claim? I'd only just passed my test not driven before??? Rang them they said it was a mistake to ignore it, then I chaned my car in March to be told 7 different prices by 7 different people over the phone ranging from £500 to £800 for doing This!! After an accident my car was a write off, a courtesy car was provided but was taken back once written off & settlement value was agreed. Insurance payment was not received on the date I was advised. I appreciate you saying you will investigate this but how can you when you do not know my name, my son's name, or the reg number of the car?
We just want the payment that is due to us following your agreement that the car is a cat B write off. I am getting fed up with being fobbed off.

after using a comparison website hasting's came up the cheapest, but I then found out after insuring with them and getting the policy documents, that I was not insured for driving other vehicle's with the owners permission, something I have always had as standard from other insurance companies when full comp insurance had been taken out. “Worst experience in 25 years of driving ”

Cheap cheap cheap insurance. Which means no customer service. They do not communicate in the event of a claim, Pushed from pillar to post trying to get answers. Why does no one call you back? I have chased and chased. You get the picture. 2 weeks later car unrepaired and being returned to me. Still Hastings have not told me this. “Hope you don't have to claim through these people”

Despite the driver of the vehicle (insured by Hastings) admitting full liability from the start they do not want to pay out for a proper repair job to be done. They are dragging it out for as long as possible to try and get us to accept a botch job on the cheap. The repair shops that they use are clearly in their pocket and working for their benefit and not the car owners. Get your own independent repairer and get the job done right. Went on line to do my car insurance through a price comparison website. Hastings were not the chrapest but the provided the best cover for what i needed. All the policy documents were e-mailed through promptly and were easy to print off. I had a courtesy call to ensure I was happy with the service and if i needed any questions answered on my policy.
