Complaint Regarding Staff and Instructor Conduct at This Center

I am writing to formally raise concerns about the behavior of staff and instructors at your center during our CBT classes. Unfortunately, we experienced treatment that was both rude and discriminatory. I repeatedly informed the staff that my father has hearing difficulties and requested that they speak louder and more clearly.

While my father does not speak academic English, he fully understands English and is capable of effective communication. He can read all signage and even addressed issues regarding his helmet during class to his instructor, using his own helmet to continue safely.

Despite this, when he did not hear a question due to his hearing impairment, he was humiliated and treated poorly, and his class was subsequently discontinued.

Furthermore, when we contacted your staff by phone, we were met with rude and unprofessional behavior. This experience leads me to strongly advise against choosing your center for training, exams, or CBT. It appears that profit is prioritized over respect and human dignity.

I am disappointed that a company of your standing employs staff who act in this manner and hope that measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Great Instructor

I just did my CBT, and even after riding for many years, I learned so much from him! He’s a fantastic instructor, full of practical, useful tips for riding safely every day. I’m really looking forward to doing my DAS with you soon!

I passed but definitely AVOID

I passed my CBT and I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to in this case. The booking process was smooth and the informative emails before the day were clear and concise.

The facilities were….ok. It’s basically a warm container ship with no fridge (not great for my tuna sandwich lol). But that’s not a disaster.

My issue is with the instructor, (Ilford test Centre). He clearly had a negative bias to the guy on my course, so much so that he gave him the worst equipment, shouted at him constantly and basically felt that he had the right to continually talk down to him. He’d have banter with some other students about pie and mash and the 70s and then swear constantly if the guy struggled with something he had literally learnt for 5 minutes.

This is meant to be a course, but from the start there was no real teaching, it was instead barking and swearing. I get we all have off days but I got the impression that he thrives on sending people home early.

The guy got sent home (he wasn’t the best but I do feel that he would have been better if he was actually taught rather than ridiculed).

The rest of the day continued and we went out on the road. Constant contradictions on communication, things like

Him; “school on your right always 20 mph…”

Then “why are you only going 20 mph…”

Me “because we’re going past a school”

Him: “don’t wanna hear it”

I passed as there was nothing he could really fail me on but I can definitely see how so many people fail here. He makes you feel on edge constantly, and as though you are a naughty kid. I’m a 40 year old finance professional! Not that it matters, everyone should be spoken to with a certain level of respect.

I would avoid this company at all costs, not because the facilities are a bit shoddy (the helmets and gloves are mouldy and stink) but purely just because for 200 quid, you’d expect professionalism and common courtesy. You don’t get that here. Will be looking elsewhere when I have to renew in 2 years.

Best day

I recently completed my CBT for motorbike riding and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the training was clear, enjoyable, and really boosted my confidence. The instructor was patient, professional, and made sure everyone understood each step before moving on.

I really enjoyed how practical and hands-on the training was — I felt safe the entire time and learned so much about road safety, bike handling, and riding techniques. It made what could have been a stressful day actually really fun and rewarding.

Smooth CBT Renewal

Completed my CBT renewal at the Tottenham centre today and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The instructors were excellent—professional, approachable, and made sure everything was clearly explained and safely delivered. They created a relaxed atmosphere that made the whole day enjoyable while still staying focused on safety and skills.

I also want to thank the lady who handled my booking. She was super helpful and took care of everything efficiently, answering all my questions with patience and care.

Highly recommend this team, whether you’re just starting out or renewing like I was. I’ll definitely be coming back to do my full licence with them!

Waste of time and money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rude behaviour

Very bad service and Instructors who can not communicate clearly, and the main aim is to find a way to stop your training so that they can go home. Instructors are very rude and not considerate

Not for beginners, you may waste your money

I don’t normally leave reviews, good or bad, but with this I hope to save someone from losing a couple hundred quid for no good reason. It’s been a few weeks since my CBT and I wrote this 24 hours ago, so I don’t think I’m being reactionary or unfair. I’ve awarded this 2 stars as the instructors were polite, spoke clearly during the first 90 mins safety briefing, and I appreciate that they remembered and called everybody by their name when speaking to them. I arrived at the course and told the instructors I was a beginner and had not ridden a moped before. I was wearing the clothing I was told was mandatory (thick trousers & boots). 2 out of the 5 trainees were wearing jogging bottoms and trainers, which, opposite to what the booking said, apparently was fine for the day’s training course. 3 of the trainees had done the course before and the other 16-year-old lad said he’d practised on a friend’s moped, which although illegal was also encouraged by the instructor. That left me as the only person with no riding experience. We all started the basic training together at the same pace. After probably a total of 5 minutes riding in a circle I fell to the side at a few mph as I wasn’t getting the hang of the throttle/brake - I had not been given any advice on how much pressure I was supposed to use. I was then asked to leave. The advice I was given was to take my hand off the brake on the straight sections and use the brake on the turns, I obviously didn’t quite get that straight away. The could see the brake lights were on of the riders in front of me in the circle the entire time, which was not the advice they were given - but I guess that’s fine too. I think my balance is fine as I cycled 10 miles to the training centre, and I’ve been driving cars for 20 years. Since leaving the course after a quarter of the time I was supposed to be on it, I’ve searched online and can’t find any comments on people being sent home after such a small issue at the start - in fact if you look online all the comments are about how people have done much worse and continued to finish the course. I’ve never been to a training course where if you aren’t good enough immediately you are told to leave. I wasn’t given any option of a partial refund or a retry, I was only offered to book more time “one on one” and then I might be ready for another CBT, each would be approx £200. I also realised that the last part of the course requires 2 hours of on road driving, 1 instructor per 2 trainees - so my being asked to leave meant they get to leave 2 hours earlier that day as there were only 4 trainees remaining, whether that had anything to do with it I will never know. Perhaps consider these instructors if you are renewing your CBT, have practised illegally already, and/or don’t have the required clothing. If you are a beginner, especially someone who doesn’t have £200 to waste then I urge you to please check out some of the other reviews of other instructors or contact them directly to check if you are at the level they are willing to help you at.
