My Citroen Xsara Picasso has been reliable but I have been plagued by minor problems. Intermittently the radio refuses to respond to the remote control: cruise control doesn't work; fuel gauge doesn't change after filling up, climate control doesn't come on. Computer has been reset twice and new sensors fitted. Paint peeling off trims door seal falling apart. Car was bought as an ex demo from main dealer, when front tyres changed (32,000 miles) near side tyre hits inner wheel arch on full lock! Liner and paint work worn away, obviously main dealer couldn't be bothered to do it and the noise eventually disappeared when everything wore away!!!
Car pulls well for its size and 90Hp engine but fuel economy very poor (43mpg). Ran a Scenic diesel for 90,000 miles averaged 50-55mpg. Picasso will do 50mpg on a run with a feather right foot, but plummets as soon as you hit traffic. Now throwing out a lot of smoke on acceleration and rear tyre wearing badly on outer edge (2 and a half years old and 32,000 miles). Come back Scenic all is forgiven.

The brakes Citroen Xsara Picasso are not well, because there's no disc on the rear. Change the original radio at 40.000kms. Change the radiator at 55.000kms. Change the clutch cable at 60.000kms.
