The staff in the pro shop are nothing shrt of rude. They are inattentive and make it very obvious that once they have your green fee they don't care about customer service any more. The course itself is well maintained and well set out. It's in a fatastic setting. The 1st hole a bit boring but it gets better as you move around the course. The restaurant looks fantastic but my food was absolutely awful. To sum up excellent golf but over priced. Awful service and customer care is zero. Avoid this club until they realise that not every golf is prepared to get ripped off!

One of the first courses built on the Costa Del Sol, Rio Real is now well established and has been a firm favourite of our trip now for a decade or so.
Superb clubhouse facilities and amenities set the scene. We have never been greeted with anything other than a warm and friendly welcome. Bar prices are a little steep, but still cheaper than what you would pay at top courses in the UK!
The course is superb. Some wide open fairways mixed in with some tight, tree lined holes make for good holiday golf. Tee to green it is always lush, and the greens run absolutely true. The 11th is one of the best looking holes on the the entire strip - stunning. In fact, on the back 9, with the possible exception of the par 3 14th, there isn't a bad or weak hole.
Some say it is expensive, but I don't buy into that. 150 euros between two sharing a buggy is not too steep for this quality of course, and certainly offers far better value for money than most cheap alternatives.
A definite on every trip - if you haven't played yet, try it. You won't regret it.

From the BMW M5, on the car park, through the lavish hotel reception, and beautiful clubhouse, you have entered a part of Spanish golf, that didn't spring up over the last 15 years. This place has class, but don't think Valderrama prices too quickly. It doesn't cost a fortune to play, last year 2008, we paid in February, 156 ' for 2 players including a buggy. The course was superb, and empty! Well shaped holes, lined by large mature trees, water hazards, great changes in elevation, greens manicured to perfection. It is, even off the yellow tees, quite a test; you need a bit of length as well as accuracy. Just for the experience, go and play Rio Real.
