Really Not Happy With Castle Espie. Went On Their

really not happy with Castle Espie. Went on their green fair day and was not only disappointed but really out of pocket. We arrived and spent £4 to park in a field! We then spent £16 to get in (two adults and a 5 year old). The only reason that this review is not one star is that my son quite enjoyed feeding the ducks. The stalls that were supposed to be green living were not and there were even book and LP stalls. Other than the duck area everywhere else looked like it was still being worked on or built. The food in the cafe was severely over priced for example £1.90 for a small drink for my 4 year old son. We had looked round everywhere in an hour and the total cost was over £40. Although I agree with what the group is trying to do at this site they have got it very wrong. We will not be back

Castle Espie Is Great Day Out For All The Family,

Castle Espie is great day out for all the family, just outside Comber on the Bally Drain Road it's about a mile out in the country but feels alot further, On the shores of strangford lough the WWT (wild fowl and wetlands trust) have run this site for a number of years and progressed the site well to cater and educate members of the public on various wild fowl and the history of castle espie it's self, which at one time made pottery and bricks among other artefacts from the limestone found on strangford lough. With a reasonable size restaurant which has just been renovated there's plenty of choice on a very well priced menu. Follow lunch up with a walk around while feeding the ducks with seed from the shop leading on to a walk around the forest walk, plenty for the kids to do any time of the year but go at the start or half way through spring to see the ducklings!

I found this review not helpful because I did not feel that the place was well priced or a good day out as described
