I brought this bike because I have a 100cc race tuned 2 stroke sports bike that likes to break down alot and I prefer the ajs it will out accelerate alot of 50cc 2 strokes and pulls 55mph derestricted without any mods, I ride this almost every day since iv had it and I even take it to bike shows where it is commonly mistaken for a 125. When I ride through town on this bike I get lots of looks, smiles and even waves from people iv never met before. Only problem iv had was when I first brought it and it had the stock chain which broke on my first ride but that was nothing a triple sss chain couldn't fix, all in all very good bike, I love it to pieces and the quality is brilliant, rides just like a big bike and brings the respect of one too, 10/10 would recommend that you get one.

I bought this to replace my trusty commuter scooter. It looks brilliant and handles really well. I have had chinese bikes and quads before but none to match the build quality of my z-ped! Mine isnt the quickest 50cc i have owned as it starts to stutter at abouth 40mph and drops down to thirty odd then will accelerate and repeat the same if anyone has any ideas on that i would be gratefull. That aside though i do really love it i go to work on it and smile the entire way. It is a really comfortable moped to ride and i am impressed with the quality of the suspention. As others have mentioned the gears are a little short. But a different sprocket combination straight from ajsmotorcycle.co.uk should sort that. I also plan to change the front sprocket bearing's as they are cheap plastic ones and have loads of play in them. That said though I'd say buy one to anyone you won't regret it.

AJS DD50E-2 'Regal Raptor'
This Bike is my pride and joy. It looks beautiful, sounds great, turns heads, has a passenger seat, does around 90mpg, and is a joy to ride. Unfortunately, there have been a few problems: an oil leak, clutch problems, and loose electrical connections, but nothing I haven't been able to fix myself. It handles very easily, and for a 50cc, it is fast. On the flat, it will do 45mph no problem, and I can get mine up to 50mph downhill. Legally, it must be limited to 30mph, but it is very easy to de-restrict it (wink wink...). Over all, it is brilliant for a first bike, or for just pootling around town.

The AJS dd50e-2 is the best bike ive had the privilage to own. Comfy, sounds really nice if you cut a hole in the black plastic bit of the air box :P fitting a 42 tooth back sprocket on the back makes it fly ive had 60 on mine nd i way like 16 stone :P having the smaller back sprocket makes the gears longer as well so you dont end up in 4th at 20 mph i dont change into 4th until im doin at least 35mph :P all around brilliant little bike still have it even though im on its bigger brother the dd125 lol

Great Little Custom Cruiser. The AJS RegalRaptor DD50E 49 turns heads and draws a crowd. Made in China with Spares and Technical advice from AJS themselves based in Andover Hampshire. AJS's service has been absolutely fantastic. Had a few little niggles caused by the dealer who had built it, but AJS rectified all the problems and supplied replacement parts next day. The bike has been 100% reliable and a joy to ride. The quality is the best I've seen for any Chinese Bike. Would highly recommend one. The bike is 16 year old learner legal too. Bought mine with the custom 'flames' decals.
