“Reduced quality ”

Written on: 16/10/2017 by 61Fuller (1 review written)

I cook all my own meals and consider myself a profficient and able cook, always cooking with top quality ingredients . I travel a lot with my work and like to keep a meal or two on stand by for my husband to cook quickly . I recently bought the sausage casserole and elderflower panacotta. Both were terrible and inedible. The sausage casserole was mushy, sweet and mostly potato. The panacotta was more like a pot of yogurt with a grainy texture. Do these people really call themselves cooks?… Read Full Review

“too much sugar!”

Written on: 18/07/2017 by Simpson275 (1 review written)

Cook have great products, delicious ingredients, 'no artificial additives', 'nothing you wouldn't use at home' - so why do they put so much sugar in their products? after a while you will notice that all of their products taste too sweet, and have a rather similar taste - of sugar! even the low calorie products have sugar on the ingredient list. Come on Cook, follow the market and cut out the sugar. Your products are good enough without this unwanted ingredient… Read Full Review

“Home made? More like factory churned out food.”

Written on: 28/02/2017 by Howellsz185 (1 review written)

I have bought food from here for many years and it was always good and well worth the additional cost but, it now appears to have grown into something that is too big to be home cooked and the quality is becoming dire in many cases. The gammon at Christmas was so dry and salty, it just crumbled on trying to cut it. Last night I cooked the large chicken, gammon and leek pie, the chicken was like and older boiling chicken had been used, so tough it was inedible, I felt so embarrassed… Read Full Review

“Not as good as it was”

Written on: 05/01/2017 by Thedeli (1 review written)

I have bought cooks meals from not long after they started up, back in the day the meals were very much like home made and delicious, it has now evolved as I would expect and shops have sprung up everywhere on a franchise basis. The meals are now far less home made more factory produced smaller portions and very little meat in them , I have noticed this on the few occasions I have purchased them over the last few years .still tasty but lacking the touches and the personal touch . Great shame !… Read Full Review

“Happy customer”

Written on: 03/01/2017 by ladyisobel (4 reviews written)

For the first time in my life due to late work commitments I got in some special-looking frozen things to help out with the Christmas catering and was slightly worried that I would be disappointed. I needn't have worried as the delivery was exactly when ordered and the food was very acceptable. The spinach and salmon pie was good although there was no mistaking that the salmon had been frozen. Appearance and presentation though were really lovely. We also tried the duck and cranberry pie and… Read Full Review

“APALLING PIE”

We have had a pork meal which was very nice but the steak and red wine pie is awful. The meat was tough and sparsley distributed and the gravy, although plentiful, was completely lacking in any flavour, let alone red wine. Avoid this one… Read Full Review

“Disgusting”

I bought the macaroni cheese. I have tasted better from an asda own brand packet dried just add water pack. The only difference is that there is a sprinkling of cheese over the top. If you have bought this make sure to cook it in the oven, otherwise throw it in the bin as it is inedible. The packaging looks nice that's about all… Read Full Review

“Cook Customer Service ”

Written on: 17/02/2016 by Josephinespot (2 reviews written)

I have used Cook for several months. I like the food - I mainly order curries and also their Coq au Vin is very good - but am always thirsty afterwards so assume high salt content. However, their customer service is appalling. In the autumn I put in a big order as I have a couple of freezers and it is easier to order everything at once. I have a busy life and when I book a time slot it is important that the company delivers within that time slot, not earlier or later. So I booked an early… Read Full Review
