“This tiny Acoustic Image Contra (series III) amp is...”

written by paulco on 03/05/2009

This tiny Acoustic Image Contra (series III) amp is primarily designed for double bass, but this amp can be used for any instrument as it has a full frequency range, from 30Hz to 20KHz.
It is designed to be as pure as possible and not colour the sound at all, as with double bass you want your bass just to be louder, and not at all sound like you're using an amp.
Has some good features: a duel input socket which can take either jack or XLR, phantom power, nice transparent EQ, low frq cut off/ notch filter, FX loop, switchable tweeter.
The amp is tiny, about 1ft square, and only weighs 20lbs, but is 400W so plenty loud enough for a lot of situations. You may wonder how such a small amp can give such low frequencies; it has 3 speakers: a 1inch tweeter, 5 inch midrange, and a 10inch downward facing woofer.
