Becherovka is one of the Czech Republic's national drinks and hails from the fresh natural spa waters of Karlovy Vary (also known as Karlsbad). It has quite an aquired taste that is very herby and full of spice. The most pungent of flavours is cinnamon that cuts through the rest of the flavours but also has a delecate herby taste behind it. It is probably why the Czechs consider it as the perfect medicine for any illness.It can be served over ice, with tonic (know as a Beton) or down in one as a shot. However you take it, it is probably best kept in the freezer to keep it nice and chilly
