So Happy I Paid The £200 Deposit With My Credit Card.....
i looked at the car i bought for this garage at the end of 2014..the salesman who's name began with G pointed out that the rear handle did not work properly but it would be replaced before i pick the car up but as it was new year holidays he wouldnt beable to get the part for another week....i went on a test drive with G he drove a couple of miles and pulled up so that i could drive back....he said to me just pull away slowly because the hand brake will release automatically but it didn't G saying it must be Renault's that do that...back at the garage i agreed to buy the Citroen people carrier and paid the deposit with my Lloyds bank credit card...arrangements were agreed that i would pick the car up a week later the faulty rear door would be fixed and i would pay the balance with my debit card...when i picked the car up the rear door wasn't repaired and it was suggested that i ring a week later...week later i was told the wrong part was sent and they would ring me when it arrives...so weeks later i mentioned that the cars hill start wasn't working and still no part for the rear door....more phone calls, visits and emails later i wrote to say i was taking the car to another garage as i didn't trust them with anything they may do to the car...i was to by this other garage i will have to take it to a main dealer as they are the only people that have all the fault numbers that the computer will show....to pass the MOT one tyre had to be replaced, this was done just before i picked the car up but after driving to Wales and finding this tyre flat and taking it to ATS in Wales and then told the other 3 tyres are almost illegal and the new tyre went flat because the valve had been damaged when the tyre was being replaced to get the car thru the MOT...when i got home i had all tyres replaced by Halfords (£421 19).i then took the car to the main dealer, after investigation it was found that the EGR valve needed replacing (£946.26) and the rear door clip (£103.70)was fixed.i was told that the water pump was knackered (£412 20)and the air conditioning was not working (£949.20) but i haven't had that job done yet...front discs and pads were found to be dangerous and replaced (£186.00).shortly i will be having the clutch replaced which was also faulty at the time i bought the car from this garage (£1283.27) but only because under section 75 of the consumer credit act 1974 and the fact that i paid £200 on my credit car i have been able to get Lloyds bank to pay me £2768 towards the cost of making this car road worthy....finally...IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY A CAR FROM THEM MAKE SURE YOU PAY AT LEAST £1OO ON YOUR CREDIT CARD.. THE BANKS HAVE HAD A LOT OF BAD PRESS BUT THANK YOU VERY MUCH LLOYDS...

Great Service Great Car!!!!
After reading the reviews on this website I was a little bit weary of purchasing a vehicle that westcarsales had, I still however pursued to go and view the vehicle.
A guy called James picked me up from there local train station, upon arriving at westcarsales the sales manager named Geoff ?? approached me he offered me a drink and was very helpful, therefor we got to looking at the car.
I then took the car for a test drive, which i noticed a few little problems, i returned to the garage and had a chat with Geoff, he agreed to sort all the problems i noticed,
Upon picking the vehicle up 4 days later everything was exactly how i wanted, i drove it again everything was spot on !!!
i returned to Geoff to pay for my car, he was ever so polite and helpful,
after reading all of these reviews i was at first a little scared you could say, but after going there and actually speaking to these people for yourself i think you would change your overall perspective of this company,
i could not complain about one thing, i had a few little problems after buying the vehicle, but they was quick to send a guy out and get it rectified,
although there are some bad reviews, i think we have to take in to perspective how many vehicles this company sales, when i was there , there was many of happy customers it seemed,
ive spoken to other people who have purchased from this company and they was very pleased with the vehicle and service they was provided with, every company is going to have its good and bad points, i think we just need to take a view on the number of cars, commercials and customers this company has to deal with.
so all i can say is although there are some bad reviews don't judge them until you have been for yourself, because the service i got from westcarsales and its staff was A1!!! :)
I'm thinking this is not a genuine customer review.
I Am 250 Miles Away From West Car Sales. I Spotted
I am 250 miles away from West car sales. I spotted a car in the Autotrader, they assured me it was spot on both bodily and mechanically. I decided it was the car for me. A sales man named G**** l**, they would hold it for me, He also told me the deposit would be refunded should I not buy, but as I was travelling so far its best they hold it for me. I booked a train at £90 and a hotel at £55, plus extras lets say total £200 inc taxis meals etc.I arrived an hour before it was due to have an MOT (their decision). Upon viewing the car it looked pretty good, until they started it, the Cam was knocking. I asked him to leave the car were it was and went for a walk and I called a specialist friend of mine who strongly advised me not to buy as if as he suspected it could run into thousands. I had 2 options, one was to take a chance or the other was to get a train so I could get home. I went to the station and got the train. I called him ti explain he seemed fine, I asked him to "not to take the £200 from my c/card". He said he wouldn't. When I got my card bill a few weeks later the money had been taken from my account Therefore I would think STOLEN is the correct word to use. I am know trying to get it back, they are playing cat and mouse, saying I should only deal with THE SALES MAN WHO MADE THE DEAL WITH ME, but you guessed it he's never there. On top of my return train fair wasting 2 days holiday, I reckon Im out of pocket by at least £570. These are total roques I would say the lowest of the low to entice someone to their showroom from 250 miles away knowing full well the car was not in the condition they had stated then rip someone off because the car was a piece of scrap, no words can cover what or who they are, but there is one thing in life I have learnt, what goes around comes around.
I am now looking to take this case to court as low life like these should not be allowed to trade. I implore you "DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE".
I too am sorry, in I even dealt with them, it makes me wonder how they can sleep at night, still they hopefully will be able to rip off less people after reading the comments left on here and other sites by many let down customers.
I am not surprised to find that your husband found him hiding in his office, proves what a sad man he is.
I have just read there reply, what a liar, they seem to think I offered a deposit when it is quite clear that they asked for a " refundable holding deposit ( with no contract signed a gentlemen's agreement over the phone)) and told me that if it was not what I expected it would not be taken from my credit card, they did take it even though I asked them not to as the potential purchase had a "knocking sound on the engine". The Car was still for sale weeks later, its funny how someone is driving around the next day "living the dream ? its was put back for sale weeks later, hmmmm !.
It has taken till now for my credit card company to get the money refunded, they are as I said previously ROGUES please "Do not deal with these people", they are liars and will do anything to rip you off.
Surprise surprise West Cars Sales, strikes again. I am sorry you had this experience. I know exactly the person you dealt with. I had to smile when I read you was unable to reach him. They told me he was signed off sick, some serious medical problem, which my husband took pity on. Except for me, I knew it was not true. When the excuses ran into days. My husband paid them a visit to sort the car issue out without notifying them. guess who was there YEPP, in his office.
Trading Standards need to do something, why should customers have to pay out more to take them (West Cars Sales) to court!!.
thank you for posting your review,i now would now like to add our comments,on the matter,i cant understand why you have left us a bad review,if we had sold you a car and there were problems and we did not assist on the repairs I could understand, but I feel upset for you to call me low life and a roque, when I have done nothing wrong, you offered to pay a small holding deposit subject to viewing, and we arranged the funding for you ie finance, and you made all the arrangements to come down, the car was a1 no problems at all,we sold the car the following day,and after reading this review we have contacted the new owner of the jaguar who informs me he is living the dream, will be adding a post shortly on how the car is his words perfect, as regards to taking, you asked me to take a small deposit as of the distance of travel,i did not take it,your deposit is refundable but not once have you asked me to refund only by coming across your comments please contact me and not the world I am so sorry you are not happy but in other ways I am glad we never sold you a car I await your contact.

Sold Me A Car That Had Major Issues
Bought car 15 January 2014, what a shame I did not check reviews first. This company sells dodgy cars, the salesman said he would fixes the EGM and it was all written down on paper, therefore on what was agreed we purchased the car on good faith, as the light was not showing the fault anymore. Few days later after purchasing the car the problem of EGM returned which has continued up-to this very date. The ongoing problem occurred about three times. Even resulted in a threat to forcefully to remove my husband. After we have spoken numerous occasion to give us back our money. West cars sales refused. These people are bullies, arrogant . It all ended that I involved Trading Standards. I wrote them (west car sales)my requests and gave reasonably time to fixes the car.(2wks) Well they did not fixes the car, but pretended that the delay was due to awaiting a part from Germany. Well west cars sales made a mistake and informed me the part cost £2000. I paid £4250.00 for the car. I highlighted the fact back to The rude man from west cars sale, that no way west Cars sales was going to pay out and also I did not believe him. He then pretended the part was cancelled from Germany. It was never ordered!!. West Cars sales! had NO!!!! Intention of fixings the car. I spoke to other people in the car field and they informed me that these people sound awful, and dragged it out so that I would get fed up and collect my car... They got me to sign a receipt to reflect I collected it not fixes. If that gives them any strength in a court order., I will pursue this as the car they sold me is not roadworthy. Plus there is other ways to get my unfair treatment across. Including busy telling people about this company and not to buy from them. My car issue is ECU. Very rude people, who like to use information to win you over, which is not true. This is a world of Internet. and getting answers is very easy now a days . Well the previous customer reviews below proves my CASE. I am a God fearing woman. God will repay them for they deception, "sow what you REAP". Or if they don't understand the higher authority then this will help "What goes around comes around" Amen Show less
Thank you for your encouragement. Right now west cars sales, has responded to my review. Denying their behaviour. What goes around Comes around.
We are faced with high cost of living to other countries. No one was to lose money or be sold a dodgy car. My CLK Mercedes, has been a nightmare. Mercedes dealership and specialist feel sorry for me and what was sold to me. That both has listed what is priority to fixes mechanically and what can wait a bit. Well I had brakes, O2 sensor, suspension that was immediate attention. I had to paid for the work to be done, at Mercedes And the rest of the work I took it to the Specialists as it was cheaper there on the labour.
West Cars Sales, can deny they bad behaviour I have the invoices of cost from Mercedes and Mercedes Specialists of all the mechanically repairs, that west car sales FAILED TO PRODUCED to me!! When they claims they ALSO did work After I purchased the car..... I spent 1 month dealing with them and they excuses, by 18th feb was my limited and I collected back my car unfixed. As this was my deadline that
Trading Standard advise I placed that down in a letter to them, which I did.
You had no intention to fixes my car. You had my car and did nothing, no invoice was handed to me when I repeat lay asked. The part you claim that you ordered was £2000 that failed to arrive from Germany of Mercedes. Was in fact costing me £200, from Mercedes which I paid for to Mercedes plus labour. Whom diagnose the issue in 2mins that couldn't do in 2weeks. You are not decent people. You only ask me to sign a letter with no Logo on it to release my car back to me. You had no intention to fixes the problem. The reason I found so many bad reviews on you. Therefore I have my right to give my feedback with the other poor customers before me.
just picked up on this email and would like to explain there are two sides to every story,we find all your comments not to be true,on 4 occasions we had to remove the car from the fixing garage under your instruction, because you needed to use the car,we were and was always happy to repair this problem, parts were orded and paid for, which we lost on because works could not be collected, you never gave the fixing garage time to fix the car as you or your husband would take the car out of workshop in the end the garage we use refused ti have the car back in as they were never given the chance to fix,you wanted the car back un fixed, this is why we asked you to sign a disclaimer,to leave reviews of untruth in my eyes is unexceptable,we done everything to help with the issues you had known of which were major.
It's just awful how these people can get away with it. You should take it further, more people have to stand up for their rights.

Avoid At All Costs
Terrible after sales, never returns call..... Now left with a car that might not be economical to repair, dealer not offered any assistance. In the process of reporting to this to Trading Standards and taking case to the Small Claims Court. Never thought buying a second hand family car could turn into such a living nightmare!!!!!

I am facing a court case very soon and would be happy to discuss with you
Hi, I can help you get on the right track. I have currently been fighting my case against west car sales and have won my case but it has now been 43 days since I won the court case. I have now got a warrant of control in issue to this company. If you want anymore info please contact me. This company needs to be shut down.
If only I had read the reviews!!! My hubby bought a £6.5k commercial vehicle! Only 5 weeks ago. We have been totally fobbed off by the unpleasant arrogant man, calls not returned having been passed different contact names etc. resulted in a visit to the garage to try to rectify issues, spare keys not sent, driving licence not returned, roof bar keys not sent. Then after a service and camber change at my cost it is noticed that the manifold needed replacing ?? At a cost of appx £800! This is covered in the free 3 month warranty! They said eventually and reluctantly they'd pay but it would be at a different mechanic and workshop in Swanley, and only second hand parts. I decided to seek advise from Vauxhall as I'm not mechanically minded. Vauxhall advised me not to accept second hand parts as this could then make any other issues covered in the warranty void??? So again the phone calls etc have had to continue. Today the gearbox has blown, the side of it literally fell out along with bearings and oil! The van is a no goer! With no van I have no work and it turn my family all suffer. I have tried to inform the garage they said they've passed my complaints to their legal team, I have contacted trading standards. If anyone can offer further advise please please get in touch

Great When Selling Then.....nothing.
I brought a vauxall Vivaro van just under a year ago from west car sales, sadly I didn't read the reviews before hand.
The salesman told me about the van, previous owners, what it was used for etc for which I believed. After requesting a few jobs to be done on the van before I purchased it, it was ready to be picked up. The guy told me the paperwork for the jobs would be ready to be picked up in a matter of days and he would ring me. No phone call. I rang him over and over again asking for them, I ended up ringing the garage they used myself and they sent them to me. The van after only a few weeks started to lose power, I rang the guy up from west car sales and it was such a struggle to get hold of him or a straight forward answer "can I ring you back" he even once told me he wasn't in the office so I thought I'd ring the office number, guess who answered!!!
After being given a number of a mobile mechanic and having to arrange the repair myself the mechanic replaced the maf sensor for which has failed again as he used a pattern part(over £200). Within this year iv travelled only average yearly mileage and replaced the maf sensor twice, fuel filter, two tyres with additional 2 on the cards, wheel bearings, a seized up handbrake, egr valve totalling over £800 and the clutch has been on the way out for months, it's just waiting for the money to be able to pay for it, roughly another £750. I understand it was a 2nd hand van and nothing is perfect but it just seems like its one thing after another, even my trusted mechanic I use said it looks nice but I brought a rotten van off west car sales.
I wasn't going to bother with this until the last straw for me. I was told, one previous owner, a carpenter like myself so why can I see the previous signwriting of "Morrison" the utility services(gas and road works) on the van. It really has been expensive and hard work dealing with westcar sales, I sadly wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
I would like to note iv always brought 2nd hand cars/vans and iv never wrote a negative review on any of the dealerships, please choose very carefully before using westcar sales. Chris-sittingbourne kent
Sorry but the comment was put on the wrong review. I am currently fighting my case and now it's in the hands of the bailiffs. If no go there I'm going to the high court. This place needs to be shut down ASAP.
In what way?
Please contact me, I can help you.
Many thanks for replying to my review. I do agree with you, the maf sensor was replaced at no expense to myself. Sadly as you can read previously iv since had to replace it again at my own expense due to it being a copy part rather than vauxall. On this matter I was given the number of a mechanic and told to sort it out myself!
I don't want to use this website as a means to argue any points with you but this is an opportunity for you to answer why I have been lied to and to explain your one to one service??
I also remember being told that when I started the van to give it a minute as it's diesel and needs to warm up, when I turn the key and start the engine I have nothing for a minute, iv been told that I should be able to drive straight away....another lie I'm guessing.
I'm in the building trade and try to earn an honest living, after handing over £3600 to you can you please address my issues so future buyers can understand how your policies work.
Many thanks for your time on this matter, I look forward to hearing back from you.
Chris.
we have noted your comments regarding the van you brought from us,we are sorry to hear you are not happy with the purchase,as you recall when you brought the van we had a number of jobs to do on the van for you,all for betterment ,service, cambelt etc,yes we did as you know replace the mass sensor, for loss of power, this van was exchanged to us by a carpenter, and your were informed at the point of sale one previous owner,so that would be two in total,it has taken a few months for you to add this review,i can only act on issues if I am aware of them.at the time,we do give all our customers 3 months or 3000 mile warrantys, any problems witin that period would be repaired by us and no cost to any other party.

Sold A Car With Problems And Shocking Customer Service!!
I purchased a car from West Car Sales and 2 weeks later noticed oil under my car after it had been parked, the car also juddered a lot when idling. I took it back to West Car Sales who had it for a day and told me there was definately no oil leak and the juddering wasn't that bad and probably just needed new spark plugs. I took the car away and immediately booked it in for a service with a trusted garage i have always used for previous cars. The mechanic here did not end up doing the service due to finding a huge oil leak, suggesting a head gasget issue, a blowing exhaust and a feul injection fault.
I phoned West Car Sales to explain, they agreed to have the car back and investigate the problems. They collected my car from me and i was told it was being taken to Swanley that afternoon to be looked at. A few days later they called me to say they agreed with all the faults and were going to put them right but due to the head gasget needing to be sent away and skimmed it would be a few more days. Well 3 and a half weeks passed, with me phoning them every other day to be told yes it will be ready tomorrow etc(which it never was)! I could rarely speak to the same person, i was rudely spoken too, and was even hung up on by one salesman! Excellent customer service hey!!!!
I ended up asking for the name of the garage in Swanley where my car was being fixed so i could call them directly only to be told by a salesman that it wasn't in fact there but at a local garage. I phoned this garage and was told the date my car arrived with them which was a whole week after West Car Sales collected it from me! So god knows where my car was or what they were doing with it for that week.
I ended up just dealing with the garage that were fixing my car and not even bothering to call West Car Sales any more.
I would never buy a car from West Car Sales again, they are more than happy to take your money and cant do enough for you unitl you drive away and then they couldnt care less about after sale care. The worst customer service i have ever experienced! Rude, arrogant and totally unprofessional!
My advice to everyone AVOID at all costs.
Because it is the truth! It took me weeks to get you to sort the car out, when I phoned for updates the staff were rude..the phone was slammed down on me mid conversation!
Ii have found it to comment on this review your car was a headgasket problem which cost £700 from start to finish we repaired and paid for all repairs were you was more than happy when the car was returned,i think that is good customer service have a problem we will fix,why leave such a nasty review ????????????
we are amazed to read this review,we had all the work done as requested and the car was collected by you and all was in order, the bill we paid was £860.00 for all work completed and more,we could understand if we did not help, but to read reviews like this ???????????

Great Car, Ripped Off On Part Exchange.
I brought a car from West car sales at the end of last year and part exchanged my old car. My previous car had out standing finance on, but they agreed to clear this for me. I accepted the trade in book price value for my car as although I could of probably done much better privately on what they offered, I didn't have the funds to clear the finance prior to a private sale. I agreed with West car sales that my finance on my old car would be cleared prior to my bank direct debit date, to prevent me having to make any further payments after our agreed trade in amount. My direct debit date came and a payment came out. I contacted West car sales who stated that they had sent a cheque to my finance company and would send me a cheque for the payment that had come out. Several weeks passed and it transpired that West car sales still hadn't paid off the finance on my car, this left me in a difficult position as I could not cancel the direct debit without resulting in damaging my credit rating. West car sales then contacted me again in a rush to clear the finance suggesting they had sold my old car, fortunately it was then cleared, but 3 weeks later than we agreed.
Despite making several phone calls, sending a letter, and emails, I still haven't seen my cheque for the extra payment that came out leaving me £140 out of pocket. Three months have now passed since the sale and I doubt I will ever get a cheque.
On the plus side the car I have brought from them is pretty good, and was exactly as described. If West car sales could sort out their accounts department I believe they would be an excellent company, but the impression I've been left with is just a that they are only interested in making a quick buck and anything after that simply doesn't matter. I'm sad to say I won't be using them again.
Everyone who has had the unfortunate experience of dealing with west car sales please dont just give up.
please look at martins money tips web site he will tell you your consumer rights as will citizens adivice. you are entitled to full refund if you are not happy ...dont be fobbed off he wont want to give a penny back ...but bring the ballifs in and he will change his mind and give him something to think about, to many of us us just swallow and thats what these kind of traders bank on. well now you know get your hard earned cash back IF your not happy with your purchase...simple as that!

Great Pre-sales Service, No After-sales Service
West car sales are very friendly and very helpful in getting me from the train station. I wasn't allowed to make a test-drive which I found strange. Anyway, car looked fine so after the payment I drove off.
Dashboard engine fault light came on, so I returned to West Car Sales and they told me it's just a service light. He'd call me later to tell me how to reset it. Never called me. That turned out to be my first repair - replacing the Glow Plugs which cost me around 100GBP.
I had tested the A/C at West Car Sales, but with the cold British weather the wind quickly felt cold. However, when I was driving through Italy with 32+ temperatures it didn't cool at all. Turned out to be a 400GBP repair because the A/C condenser was completely broken.
This was a 2008 car which I expected to be perfect and I paid a lot of money for. I never heard from them again after repeated emails.
In the end: Great car now after it was fixed. West Car Sales will not deal with any problems after sales. I didn't hear a single word since I bought the car.
I didn't drive to Cyprus. I drove to Malta. I came back to your garage after I went to refuel with your colleague to show you the dashboard light. I then first contacted you when I was in Holland, I never went to Germany. I emailed you twice with repair costs, once in Holland and once in Malta. Both emails were sent weeks before I published this review. Also, the owners of this website notified me that you admitted to them that you ignored my emails on purpose because I was out of the country.
In addition, the reviews on this site are very negative about your company.
Once again, I am now very happy with the van - I just hoped you'd provided some after-sales service.
the customer did test drive the van and fully inspected the van on site well before paying the final balance, reported problem of light coming on some where in germany as this van was brought for export, whilst every care is taken before the cars and vans leave site we will warrant any major problem with anything sold within a 3 month period but in this case we cant repaire a van in germany or indeed cyprus were this van ended up we were not informed of any costs or repairs that were done to this van untill this review was noted.
Q&A
Why is it when you buy a car, pay a deposit, does it take so long to get the car? I've phoned, and been told two stories. I've been fobbed off, been told they will ring me. But they don't. After two weeks I'm losing patience. I'm thinking of contacting citizens advise as I'm looking to get my deposit back. It'ss been two weeks now and I need a car.
I would demand my money back and then buy a car elsewhere from a more reputable garage. I have had so much trouble and I am still fighting to get this resolved. The last 13 months has been a nightmare!!!
