A Great Tent, We Brought This Khyam Quebec Deluxe

A great tent, we brought this khyam quebec deluxe tent as an upgrade as it is very spacious and has ample storage space even for a family of 5, we still use one pod for a wardrobe. the tent takes about half hour to erect which is good considering its size. the time taken to fill it mind you is somthing else. the only problem i have is that the sun porch doent seem to fit properly. it only goes over one and a half doors which cuts out half the window and the high ridge in the centre of the tent seems to restrict the fit, and the guidelines for the porch pulls the tent celing down. iam pleased with this tent but would have liked to have known if another porch was avaliable.

After A Lot Of Research I Decided To Buy This Khya

After a lot of research I decided to buy this khyam quebec tent for our camping holiday this year in France. We are a family of five and I wanted a large tent so that we could all be confortable. And it was exactly that.

The fist reviewer has written an excellant review but I would just like to add too that.

1 - I think the instructions are appalling - absolutely no help whatsoever and Khyams say it can be errected in 25mins - I'd like to see them do that. We (two of us) took about 45mins to set up the whole thing, inside and out, which isn't bad considering the size of the tent but 25minutes is a bit exaggerated.

2 - The quality is good. However the pole attachements (the springy things that hold the poles together when you take them apart) have come out of two of the poles and despite trying to repair this they still come out when I take the tent apart. Not brilliant, but not really a problem.

3 - There is no porch to the tent which is a shame. When it rains the tent is water tight but on opening the door it creates a puddle on the floor, which I found to be annoying.

4 - It is watertight but I found that there was quite a bit of condensation each morning despite the ventilation system. I couldn't understand it but Khyams do say that it is more than likely - I just didn't expect it to be so much though!

5 - I also bought with this tent the carpet that goes with it which is great but keep in mind that it gets quickly dirty if you have kids....

On the whole I think that, despite its faults, it a very good stury tent which is easy to put up (once you know how) and is also easy to put away in bags that are of a good size. Is it worth the high price tag?? I don't know. I will say yes but we will have to see in a few years time once the tent has been used a few times...
